Not bashing Capel or anyone but

After watching Butler dominate Syracuse the first half you have to conclude:

That there are a lot of good players out there that are not top 100

That those players can play a tough defense, block out and get open for shots even against elite players.

Watching those guys keep their feet moving on D and cut off passing lanes is refreshing from the above the rim gymnastics type basketball that some play.

We had a bad season. Hopefully, we will have a much better one next season but the loss of a McD all-american or two is no reason to surrender to another bad season.

There can be no excuses for 2009-2010.

My father played back in the 70's and he contends that the talent nationwide today is night and day from back then. Lots and lots of good players.

What's wrong with players that play above the rim?

I have no problem with players who play above the rim. Blake Griffin was an above the rim player who used every ounce of his talent. Wish we had more like him and Taylor. But I have no time for players who stand around until they can make a slick one on one move. And get away with it because they are highly gifted.

It looks like Butler will lose to Syracuse but the point is that if they can play like they did tonight our 09-10 team has no excuses for the type of season they just turned in.
