Oklahoma @ West Virginia: 3 PM

We've had some frustrating bad losses, but we've demonstrated toughness in many games too.

Then don't assimilate and you'll be fine, perfectly. You can bask in the glory that you are not him and kiss the ground you walk on if it pleases you, but banning someone because they don't follow your every whim is lacking.

Huh. What a weird response. Kiss the ground. Wth are you talking about??
Ban because he’s an idiot that just wants to disregard everything they do. It adds nothing. That’s the point.
“At least it’s better than a loss” is the what’s said when you win by double digits at a team that was 13-1 at home. Come on man

You chose to respond to my post on 2 occasions and they were done by choice as no one forced you to do otherwise. Same thing goes with emotions for if you want to be happy then be happy, if you want to be sad then be sad, if you want to feel uplifted then feel uplifted and if you want to feel depressed then feel depressed and this aptly applies to all emotions and not just some. No one has to read an individual's post nor respond to it and this applies to the poster in question. You can choose to regard or disregard anything and everything. There is too much emotion being displayed for such irrelevance.

There was a thread regarding what the future should hold for Lon Kruger as it was set up in a polling fashion. I voted to let him be yet most thought differently. Should we censor the majority of posters who want him gone or "his seat should be hot"?

If you don't like what someone espouses then set a better example.

He goes way above and beyond. It’s not worth it. Sorry if you don’t agree but it sounds like most think it’s over the top and enough

So, you censor the responses you don’t agree with? Why can’t you just ignore him?

Just because you don’t agree with it doesn’t mean you ban them. Do we live in communist China? No. We live in America. Don’t be such a *****.

What does this mean?

It means only sunshine pumpers are allowed to post on this board.
Those who think beating a team that will end its season losing 8 out of 9 games, may not be a sign of righting the ship, get banned.

Again. Lol. BIG SAD

And yet you are still here. If sunshine pumpers were the only ones allowed to post on this board, you would have been gone a long time ago.

And this accomplishes what? Are you for acceptance or not?

Learn to read and comprehend before just blinding beating your drum. Her response, that you quoted, was clearly pointing out that this board is about acceptance and that daq was wrong when he said, "only sunshine pumpers are allowed to post on this board."

Yeah. I expect us to revert to the mean today.

The Sooners can't win with some of you guys. You predicted before the game that they were going to lose; if they had, you'd have likely ragged on them for it. But they didn't -- they won decisively on the road against a ranked team that was 13-1 at home entering today.

So, given the Sooners played a terrific game and far exceeded your expectations, do you celebrate the win? Do you at least zip your lip and live to ***** and moan another day while others celebrate? No, you rush to downplay the victory, diminish it, discount it -- and this right after a win that you know full well the majority of fans on this board are going to be pleased with and want to celebrate.

And then you play the victim card.

Because if you read the thread you would notice that there are those, including moderators, who are stating just the opposite, so the poster who I responded to is not taking this into account. Understand? The mods, as well as others, are not embracing the "acceptance contingency" and that is what i have been responding to. "MPS" responded as if that was not "on the table" when it clearly is as I was just bringing her up to date with the current view, but thank you for your concern.

I got it by reading all of the comments. But you went one post too far trying to make your point by quoting/questioning a response that proved that this board is accepting of negative posters. You don't know what MPS was thinking, but at face value her comment was spot on.

Those wanting him banned are not for acceptance. MPS was claiming the board is for acceptance. Something does not jive.

Again, there are those, including mods, who are leaning to having a poster banned which does not qualify as acceptance. MPS is stating the board is about acceptance and all I simply did was bring her up to speed in my response to her. I was not attacking her position at all, but just bringing to her attention that those who call the shots did not see eye to eye with her.

Yikes on me.

I agree, I have never understood the first natural reaction in a Sooners win is to criticize, lambast, and downplay the result, from someone that claims to be an OU fan.

And then be defensive or critical if someone calls them out for it.

Reminds me of Randy Quaid's character in Major League

I was simply disputing what he said. If only sunshine pumpers were allowed to post here, he wouldn't be allowed to post.

I don't know what you mean by acceptance. I don't have a problem with people having an opposing point of view. Seasons have ups and downs and so do posters. But some posters never have anything good to say. They are entitled to their opinion, but they are tiresome. The irony is that they love to be the contrarian and disagree with everyone else, but are offended when people disagree with them.

With regards to your first statement "the times they are a changing." And don't you just love when people talk about you? Goodnight MPS.

Great win!!!! Wish I would have gotten to see this one.

ever since the 90's every sooner basketball board goes through this same debate at some point.

I've tried to figure out what social dynamic causes it.

Seems like banding together under the guise of "sooner basketball fans" is a tenuous link that gets worn out after a short period as people with one idea of what being a fan means are mixed with those of differing ideas. In the end it always comes down to this "sunshine pumpers" debate.

2 iterations or so ago I was accused of being the big "sunshine pumper" promoter as the few who are still here from that time might remember. Point is it's natural and will always come to a head in the same manner.

People generally come here to discuss the program and its' games with those of similar likes. But those eventually further sift out based on reactions and approach. It's empirically verified.

So if those who own and run this board prefer to restrict it to people who aren't so negative then that's their right. It's their board. Their property. If that's a problem find a board that embraces your negative diatribes more easily.

People don't seek out company of those who irritate them. It's just a fact. deal with it or stop being so negative. this isn't a government endeavor so you have NO right to "free speech".
