OU currently 11 seed per ESPN (headline)

Another year on the bubble. We don't have near as much cushion this year compared to 2018 and 2019. We were ranked in late January both of those seasons.

It is thin ice time right now... A loss to Miss State has you projected out, then the next win has you barely back in, then another loss has you out, etc. That is how thin it is right now.

We are in danger of missing the tournament if teams like Liberty and Tulsa slip in ahead of us.

I wouldn't worry too much about Liberty. According to the metrics, they have a nice squad, but they lost to North Florida last night, which was a Q-3 loss. They only have ONE Q-2 win and NO Q-1 wins. And they only have one more Q-3 game on their schedule.....the rest are all Q-4 games. They will have a very good W/L record, but will NOT have a tournament resume. They will need to win their conference tournament....and likely will.

Tulsa is a little different story. As of now, they have 7 more opportunities for quality wins....and they seem to be playing better. Their problem is that they have a Q-4 loss to overcome they have ZERO Q-1 wins to date along with only (3) Q-2 wins. For comparison, OU has (2) Q-1 wins and (4) Q-2 wins and ZERO Q-3/Q-4 losses. And OU has (12) more opportunities for quality wins.

Neither one of these teams will likely slip in ahead of us. If OU doesn't make the tournament, it will be because we didn't win games....it's very unlikely that either of these two teams will have a better resume.

I sense some panic/concern.....but I don't think it's time for that yet.

Today was an important win. Not only the outcome, but another step in getting to that total win number of 19. 19 easily gets us in the tournament and at least a 9 seed....imo.

Also, a few bubble teams around us not only lost....but lost to some bad teams (Va Tech lost to BC and NC State lost to a horrid Georgia Tech team). And then there are teams once thought to be really good like Michigan, Ohio State, and Memphis....who are simply cratering.

There's a long way to go, but this team needs to take care of business at our house of horrors on Wednesday.
