What do you think about Clark and his ability to play point in college? Does he have that skill set right now, or is he going to be work in progress when he gets to the next level?
Also, what do you know about Corlby Ervin out of Carl Albert (I think)? I've heard Ford has been in contact with him.
I think Stevie's freshman year will be an adjustment period. A lot of the things he does to succeed at the high school and AAU level won't work, at least at first. He'll likely have a few games where he'll hit 5 threes or something ridiculous, and go off for 20 points to key a win, then he'll have some where he'll be a non factor. Give it a year or two, but he'll be fine. He works too hard and wants it too much not to.
Then on Ervin, yeah he got a call from OSU last week. He's moved to Edmond North for this year and if he had a jump shot, you can not convince he wouldn't be a high major player. At the high school level, there is no other player in Oklahoma that can affect the game in so many different ways. He's so strong and aggressive that he's like Marcus Smart lite. He rebounds, he gets steals, he plays good defense, its tough to keep him out of the lane, he's got surprisingly good court vision, he's just a bully out there.
The problem with him, is that his playing style works so well because Oklahoma basketball is down when it comes to elite players and overall size (after Shaq Morris and Jakob Hartsock, there are few quality 2013 bigs in Oklahoma). So in high school he can get away being a 1-5 type player with no true position. His recruitment has slowed because he can't shoot and while I'd argue he's a point, I'm not sure how many college coaches think the same. His game isn't the cleanest looking either, his handles, his passing are all funky looking, but they're still efficient. Of course, I'm a sucker for athletic, aggressive, do it all power guards (Russell Westbrook can do wrong in my eyes!), so perhaps I'm not the best person to ask on him.
One other factor, Stevie and Corlby played on the same AAU team in July and had really great chemistry together, at least I thought so. So about OSU putting a lot of the eggs in the Clark basket...
