OU slides to 10th place in the Conference

BTW, i am just giving you a hard time...nothing personal just as nothing is personal with Boca either, he actually is quite funny...

I understand you are upset as all OU fans are, i am just not a negative person and understand college basketball for what it is...entertainment...plus i understand the landscape of basketball and this type of season does not surprise me as it is going on all over the country, we have just been spoiled for so many years with our teams since the 80's...

Capel has to shoulder much of the blame on this because he chose to bring these guys in, and if they dont produce he is responsible...but to the same degree this is what happens in college basketball, recruiting isnt a science and more times than not Capel is going to be praised for the work he has done here attracting this type of talent to OU, and they will win with it...this is one year in a very short body of work for Capel in which he has a first round win and an Elite 8...

If this type of underachieving continues it will take care of itself, but as a fan i choose to believe in the team and the coaches until they are replaced...

Thanks for the nice response.

As much as I think Tiny, TMG and WW were overrated they are still good prospects and my beef isn't with Capel signing those guys as much as it is with the signing of all the misses -- Early, Neysmith, Willis, Allen, Hardrick, Maze and Leary. Neither Tubbs nor Sampson had that many misses in 3 recruiting years, and I think the signing of the high number of missed recruits is a greater indicator that Capel isn't the great recruiter some make him out to be rather than the results of the 3 somewhat overrated recruits referenced above.

This is where our problem is, not the highly rated guys. I can give Leary a pass because we missed on Lucas and in the meantime Roberson signed with Tech.

I agree with Neysmith, Allen and Hardrick but if you look at what Willis accomplished in highschool and check out his tape it would be hard for anyone to think he would have not improved any in his stature or game(i personally thought he had the most upside in his game/kerry kittles is who i saw in his tapes)...Early was a solid prospect but headcase(that has to be taken into account)...Maze was solid and is proving so at Tenn...Leary was a need that panned out great as a solid role player...

What i'm starting to question with Capel isnt the talent of players, but the mental capacity and drive(all-around/bball knowledge/school/discipline)...these are the intangibles that are hard to identify as a high school kid but are a must...so far he isnt doing very will in his judgements so far in this...
