I think they've quit on their coach. I would take their talent on paper though. Not saying they should win the Big 12 but they should be competing for an NCAA tournament spot. They are flat out bad.

Well if he saw this team play more than this game he wouldn't complain that much. I'm a little disappointed to but honestly who wants to pay to watch this team?

I thought that was the case as well, but I actually think he was trying to compliment them. I think he was saying he was surprised at how vocal the crowd was.

He tried to not complain about the size of the crowd by saying it was small but enthusiastic or something like that.

I think he caught himself and tried to turn it into a positive.

I hope you're right, though. He's been around basketball long enough to know that even at basketball schools, if you don't win, people don't pay to come out and see you.
