*******OU-Washington Gameday Thread*******

This game was lost in the first fifteen minutes with a repeat of the second half at Creighton.

I'm still in shock that this team was downright awful in the early part of the first half. Didn't they learn anything from the Creighton loss? :facepalm

This team will be a force WHEN they realize against good teams it takes 40 minutes.

We know it's a loss. We're all frustrated but come in off the ledge--or at the very least, don't lash out at those who don't melt down after a loss as you seem intent upon doing.

Did you think when we trailed by 20 that we'd have a shot to win it and would lose only by two? I'm guessing not. If you can't find a way to view a huge comeback that fell just short as a positive (a still-disappointing end result, yes, but a very positive effort from our guys), then that's your issue.

Sometimes it's just not a team's night. Any of a dozen plays could have led to a different result -- the non-continuation call on Buddy's drive was huge, and those two giant bounces that Woodard's final shot took were brutal. We likely get the rebound and a putback without those two bounces.

But I'm proud as heck of the guys for fighting back.

Exactly

No doubt about it. I'm pleased with the way our kids battled back from 20 down to make it a game at the end. They showed a lot of heart in doing that.

The only question I have is why put yourself behind the eight ball in the first place with what had to be the worst 15 minutes of basketball this team has played since the second half at Creighton?

This one is on Thomas. Had a terrible game on offense and defense.

Buddy tends to have tunnel vision on breakaways such as that but he had a trailer to the side of him who could have had a free shot if the ball was just passed to him. Just passed to him.

I thought Thomas played well defensively, but he was putrid on the offensive end. Why he kept trying to post up against the 7 footer Shaw all game long is beyond me. This would've been the perfect game to use that mid-range jumper of his like he did against Tulsa.

Absolutely let the Husky length intimidate him.

Yep. The last play of the game he had his man beat off the dribble but saw the help defender and dished it out immediately.
I feel like he could have at lleast kept driving and make the help collapse to you and try and dish it under to Spangler.

Went to the game last night. First time seeing the Sooners this year in person. We have a long ways to go. Looks right now like another one and out in the tournament. Can't believe the last shot set up. Woodard is shooting about 25% this year.
