+++++++OU-West Virginia Gameday Thread+++++++

Bottom line is WV played their game 35 minutes and OU played theirs for 5.

On the game-winning shot, Page had his forearm out on Cousins. Should have been an offensive foul. And the clock did start a tick before Buddy had the ball. It started every bit as early as his shot was late.

It's not bashing a player to say that Spangler, as a redshirt senior, shouldn't airball a FT in that situation.

It happens. I am sure he is more upset about it than you are.

End of the game was a dagger.

Spangler misses two FTs
Spangler draws a charge but it is called a block.
Awful offense by OU and Buddy puts Cousins in a bad position.
Big bucket by Page
James is fouled on a drive and no call and he misses the layup
1 FT for WVU and then that crazy ending.

Missing both free throws is just hard to stomach.

That was not an offensive foul.

What about that technical on Cousins. That was arguably a six point deal because they got four and OU lost possession.

I thought the WV guy should have gotten a technical for forearming Cousins at the foul line. Just a crap play.

Refs not calling fouls in the first half hurt. Normally WVU hurts you the first 10-22 minutes of s half but then the bonus lets you come back.

Spangs played well besides the one FT. I guess it just slipped in his hand. Regardless, we still lead by 3 at that point and should still win.

Which Sooner fan is going to get the game film and prove that wasn't 1.8 seconds? We need a volunteer. Maybe someone from Texas Tech has the technology to help us with that clock.

Things happen in a game - all the arguing about stuff that happened prior to the last minute really shouldn't matter. We had a travel call, missed 2 FTs, and missed a layup to win the game.

If we didn't make a comeback the real turning point in this game was when Walker came in and he single handedly turned a 4 pt game into an 8 pt game with 2 horrendous turnovers.

Exactly. This team kills itself when it loses. Technical fouls. How many is that on Cousins this year? Missed key FT's. Missed layups or easy shots.

Buddy played like dog crap, and OU still almost managed to pull this one out! That fact alone gives me hope! What doesn't ia that we have scholarship players who can't make layups...but that was a great game with a bad ending.

There wasn't anything "great" about that game unless you're a fan who doesn't care who won. OU played like $hit for most of the game and at times looked disinterested. Was the end dramatic? Sure. But the way we played for most of the game was nauseating.

When is the last time you saw a 5th year senior airball a FT at the end of a close game? Guarantee you can't answer that question.

my biggest beef...besides we seemed to play pretty lax the first 30 min...

is how we "handled" the press. No screens, catching the ball on the base line then dribbling into a corner. I'd be curious to know how many TO's we had just on that..I think at least 5 plus had to burn at least 1 TO, maybe 2.
