Rank the conference (9-17-2010)

I think the Big 12 being a little down helps OU. They could easily beat teams like Texas, OSU, A&M, Tech, at home. And we should beat Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa State if we just have a decent team that will play together. Last year you could tell that those guys didn't like being there.

1. Kansas
2. Baylor
3. KState
4. Missouri
5. Texas
6. Texas A&M
7. OSU
8. Colorado
9. Texas Tech
10. OU
11. Nebraksa
12. Iowa St

i do know that very, very few jucos are much better than decent their first year. even ones with nba talent.

FWIW, Olukemi isn't a "first-year juco guy."

He was with the team last year, redshirting. So while he wasn't playing in the Big 12 day-in and day-out, he was with the team practicing and learning the offense/defense.

Plus, he got the benefit of Big 12-level strength/conditioning, training table, etc.

So he might be somewhat ahead of the typical "first-year juco guy."

Allright... who's the wise guy who changed my avatar to BikerFox?

It's so hilarious I might just leave it...

:D

most people have Colorado too low. they will challenge for .500 in the league imo. Higgins, Burks and Relphorde are a nice combo and the Shannon Sharpe kid is supposedly the real thing at PG.

in fact, if i were a betting man, i'd say they finish higher than OU based on what we know now, today given how unproven the entire OU roster is.

If they can rebound the ball they could finish above .500. They have two of the best players in the league in Cory Higgins and Alec Burks. They couldn't rebound to save their lives last year.

With Sharpe, Higgins, Burks, and Relphorde I don't know how OU finishes above them this year.

It helps the transition no doubt, but I think the lack of NBA talent argument is still there. OSU has a lot of nice pieces but I am not sure about their offense. Outside of Page they don't have a lot of shooters so teams could run a lot of zone to negate some of their size. I think OSU will have to rely on defense and fast break points to be successful.

Kansas State is still my pick to win the conference.

didn't know that. it certainly helps.

How DARE you not be completely in the know with the status of an oSu JUCO recruit!

FWIW, I think the kid will be a solid player!

I went through and picked all the games on the schedules for each team and here's what I came up with.

wow, that was a lot of work. Looks pretty close to me. I could say Baylor plus or minus a game or two depending how the Punchdarious Dunn situation turns out.

Well, I did it last year and it didn't turn out anywhere close. Texas and OU fell apart and Baylor was much better than expected thanks to Epke Udoh.

I agree. Baylor is the wildcard. I expect a dropoff losing their PG along with both Udoh and Lomers inside. But who knows how good Perry Jones will be and whether or not Dunn will stay on the floor. They have a lot of talent but could totally self-destruct if they can't handle last year's success.

OK... I LOL'd at "Punchdarious" Dunn.

Nice work, Cheno...

:ez-laugh:

:clap

"Punchdarious" Dunn may magically make it onto a sign this year. The Capelables will get this done. Hopefully it wouldn't get banned like my "Bevo is a Queer Steer" sign did at the Texas game.
