RE: Jimmer in the NBA

still not sure.

IF he protects the ball a little better I'd think he could play the point.

I don't think he can be a starting 2, maybe a shooter off the bench.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

The guy I think of when I see him play is Jason Williams from about 10 years ago. Without the tattoos and the history of the bad attitude. He's s till playing for Memphis I think but he's not even close to what he was. That's the type of player Fredette will be in the NBA.

I can see that a little bit from the passing, but JW was much quicker than Jimmer.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

I dont really think he will be that good in the NBA. From what I've seen, he is best with the ball in his hands creating his own shot. He wont be taking many NBA level PG's or SG's off the dribble, or jumping into them and forcing a shot over them.

He will need to develop his game to be able to come off screens and pop shots. I dont see him as a guy that will have the ball in his hands much in the NBA.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

I agree but that's the type of player you look at. Williams was probably a better passer. Fredette's also a better scorer. kimber could also be right in that he's just not quick enough.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

He's listed at 6-2 so he's probably 6-0 or 6-1

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

Jimmer can finish around the rim way better than Jason Williams ever could. He's such a unique player that I'm not sure there's a good comparison. It's going to be very interesting to me to see how his NBA career turns out. I think the Draft Express scouting report on him is accurate in that it will be very important what kind of system he ends up in.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

Nick, I'm not trying to be an as*, but comparing Jimmer to JWill is very ill-informed. Two totally different players with two totally different skill-sets and body-types.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

reminds me of JJ Re****....Except Jimmer attacks the goal better

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

I don't think Jimmer is going to be a 2 in the league. I'm not sure he has the quicks to play the 1 like was also posted. That's what he doesn't have compared to J-Will. But I agree more with the others there isn't a fair comparison. He's about the closest I can come up with. He's not that different body wise. Williams is 6-0 190 I think. BYU lists Fredette at 6-2 195

Nick, you could've given me 1,000 players to draw a comparison to Jimmer and Jason Williams would've never made the list.

I would've picked Jayson Williams the murderer before I picked Jason Williams the point guard. Two TOTALLY different players.

Either....

or....

And body-types...I meant proportion. Jimmer is a stocky kid while JWill was rail thin.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

I could see Mark Price more than Skiles. Jimmer doesn't have a hundredth of the nastiness necessary to be Skiles and he (Jimmer) is a 100x better finisher than Skiles.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

Jimmer will be a very good NBA player, but only if he's the third option on a team with other superstars.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

by the way ...

it is NOT "Jimmer"...

it is "the Jimmer"

What about JJ?

I agree. I think it's a mix of the two to be honest. All this comparison aside, yes, Jimmer will play in the NBA. He reminds of Redd ick (can't say ****?). In this way...A prolific college scorer that may need a year or two to get his feet in the door and may never be an all-star, just a glue guy.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

I think he plays more like some other white guys.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

red-ick is 6'4.

it's all about defense. if he can contain other teams' second unit pg, he'll get some run. he'll be better at setting people up at the next level because he won't have to carry the load offensively.
