From the NC team? I think they had Davis back that was about it. They lost something like 6 of their top 7 players.

that was the board superstar that is better than cade davis. He blessed us with his time by running outside and dunking so he could post a picture. we are so lucky to be in his presence

All 5 were on the previous year's team. Didn't say they were starters.

...and three of those guys are no longer there. I don't think Roy is all-world or anything, but he is a real good coach. You don't hold down gigs at two of the most prominent and scrutinized institutions by their fans. UNC is having more success this year with a younger contributors than last year...he threw out his incumbent, NBA coach's son at starting PG for a true freshman.
Give the guy some due, "bad seasons" can happen to anybody...look at the Izzo team this year (which is by far worse than UNC so far, they have almost everyone back besides Allen). Williams' squad last year was an unimpressive 16-16 but he still managed to coach/motivate them to make the NIT final when they had nothing to play for.
The Capel season vs. Williams season is one of the dumbest comparisons on this board....right up there with comparing why doesn't Fitz rebound like Charles Barkley.

Some of those guys aren't there this season because they graduated (not Drew obviously).
Izzo's team this year can also be blamed partially on injuries as Kailin Lucas is obviously not the same player he was before he tore his Achilles.
I wasn't comparing Capel and Williams.

No you're right. You don't have to play basketball to know basketball, but it sure helps. Like that last sequence, it's hard to know what's really going on in the huddle and what coach is telling you if you haven't actually heard a coach tell you anything.

I posted on the previous thread my thoughts.
He's a really good coach, do I think he is one of the best ever? Probably not, but he still wouldn't be at Carolina if he wasn't really good. My Dad hated Roy (and TJ Pugh) and he's a KU letterman, so its not like I grew up in a pro-Roy house. My opinion is he has had comparable success to Dean Smith and Dean is given as one of the all time greats (even though he probably left some wanting more). Matt Doherty and Guthridge didn't have much success at UNC, so the school's name alone does not get it done.
When Roy recruits for his system (fast paced, score points) he is awesome...last year I think he got into the "get as many McD'sAA as possible club and it backfired. People forget that the Wear twins transferred, so he is doing more with even a younger team.
