Is Marquette expecting to be good this season? I'm a little discouraged already that both scrimmages we've had we've lost. Silly since the season hasn't even started but it would make me feel better of Kansas State and mu were expected to do well this coming season?!

Interesting that A&M is both 17 and 35. That really does take talent.

Reminds me of our teams in the late 80s when they always said our second unit would be one of the top teams in the country lol.

i agree we don't need CBB to become like the NBA
How would playing quarters make it like the NBA? There are still a million different rules. It’s not like the NBA is an outlier. Everyone plays quarters.

For the record, NBA rules are almost universally better than college rules, IMO. I think almost every coach and analyst would agree with that. Having some subtle differences is fine, but shortening the shot clock, extending the three-point line, tweaking the charge/block rule, etc, have all improved the game.

How is it sexist? Are you not female?
Thanks for sticking up for me. I wasn’t being sexist at all. She said I was illiterate, that’s comical right there coming from someone who lives in Wichita.

I can deal with some changes, just don’t make the gather step a college rule.

When called correctly in nba I can live with it. But nba refs struggle with that rule, I don’t want college refs have to make that decision.

Mods, do we really want to keep allowing the sexist crap on this board? I could care less what this buffoon says about me in his semi-literate posts, but how many times are people allowed to pull the "hey, I know, when I don't agree with them, I will try to insult them by (gasp!) calling them a woman!" That stuff has zero place on this board. I have no doubt you guys wouldn't allow racist posts, so why turn a blind eye toward the thinly veiled sexism?

Gather step? Please say no.

Why are you so insulted by being called a woman? Do you hate woman and view them as unequal? How sexist of you to think that being called a woman is more insulting than the insults you sling around (ironically in the same post you slam someone for insulting you, you insults them)

I didn't say I was insulted by being called a woman. I said it is ridiculous that people continue to try to insult people in that manner because the mouth breathers who post this garbage *think* it is an insult. And it's sad that it is allowed on this board. How many times do we need to see people call someone ma'am or talk about getting their panties in a wad, or call someone a "woman" for being overly sensitive, before those people get warned or banned? As for my insults, I called him semi-literate because most his posts are full of spelling or grammatical errors. Virtually every one of his posts is a personal shot at me, so I am perfectly comfortable pointing out his inability to form a sentence.

So again, it is OK for you to insult others how you see fit but not OK for others to insult you.
calling people doofus and illiterate is OK. But people calling you a woman is not.

Makes perfect sense.

Correct, because calling someone feminine as an insult is misogynistic. Calling someone semi-illiterate because their posts look like they were written by a 4th grader is not. See the difference? I know you do, but you've painted yourself in a corner now so you'll never admit it.

Insulting (or trying to insult) someone one knows to be a man by implying he is a woman is indeed sexist and it's beyond silly to pretend otherwise. The clear implication is that women are somehow lesser--too weak, too emotional, too illogical ... I won't go further down that misogynist rabbit hole. This is middle school-level stuff, for pete's sake. Me, I could do without the insults altogether, but if WS must be insulted, why not do so without dragging women into the equation?

lol what? If you truly think woman are equal to men, then calling you a woman wouldn't be the insult you say it is.

But regardless it is extremely hypocritical to complain about being called a woman while at the same time calling someone else illiterate or dumb. You are essentially saying that it is worse to be a woman than dumb. And to defend calling someone illiterate, you say their posts are full of errors. So is it not OK to defend calling you a woman by pointing to your emotional complaining all the time? Or is it now sexist to point out that women are more emotional than men?

Make up your mind dude (is it ok to say that?). Either stop insulting others yourself and take the insults like a man (oops!).

What you may consider offensive may be non offensive to others. What you consider nonoffensive may be extremely offensive to others.

Complaining about being called a woman is pretty dang laughable

It is actually the exact opposite of sexism! It is the one that gets offended that is the sexist one because they view it as an insult!

If I call a man a woman it is because they are acting like a woman. It has nothing to do with the value I place on women. Or do you think there are zero differences between men and women? Is it not ok to point out differences?

On the contrary, someone calling me illiterate is intelligist because you view people with a lower IQ as lesser value. It goes both ways man. You can't have your cake and eat it too
