Sidorakis gives up ship

that's impressive. very cool of his family.

stoops4pres would ball on Sidorakis, just sayin'.

nice gesture. but this comment cracked me up

With him and Pawnee Page, you have two of the hardest working, scrappiest guard tandems in America.

Props to Nick and his family. Not going to dis a kid who sacrifices for the team.

Now the scummy, over-recruiting coach that put him in this position is another matter.

LOL... yes because Travis Ford is the first coach in the history of the world to oversign.

Sidorakis will be just fine. His dad is the freaking GM of Southern Hills.

So stoops4pres was also a key contributor on two 20-win NCAA tournament teams?

I guess i view it a little differently...

I think it is very noble of Sidorakis to offer up his scholarship for the team, but does anyone else think this is fishy?

A 4 yr senior "volunteers" to give up his scholarship for the better of the team? I think it was more like..."Hey Nick, you arent really in our plans and we arent going to extend your scholarship for your senior season...if you would like to finish your career here you are more than welcome but you will have to do so as a walk-on"...

I'm sorry, but I just dont see this as a feel good story...

Exactly.

Ford had "no plans" for the guy who he named a team captain for this season last spring.

:facepalm

It is the Internet, but good basketball players get on the Intenet too...not just nerds, shut-ins and wannabees...

I'll grant you that... but the nerds/shutins/wannabees have to outnumber the good players... what... 100,000 to 1? :)

Not saying stoops4pres isn't one of the good ones... just sayin' you could understand my skepticism.

:)

Obviously he doesnt factor that much into his plans or he wouldnt have allowed him to give up his scholarship...guess what...if you dont have a place for the guys you are bringing in, then dont do so...

Pretty crappy move to do to one of your Senior "captains", even if it was meant to be genuine by Nick...

His dad is actually a really cool dude and was always extremely nice to my grandparents in their later years. Not really relevant to the numbers crunch created by oversigning, but his dad is a class act.

Now to the "Pawnee Page" thing...reminded me of all the stupid nicknames Berry Trammel tries to come up with for EVERYTHING. Seriously, he is trying to call the Thunder the "Boomers" now. WTH?

I would think there were some NCAA issues with this. I wonder if they were going to run him off and this was their way of saving face for him.

:D

True true...that ratio probably isnt any better than that...

I think for me it is more about Nick than anything else...great guy but nothing real special on the court...now if we are talking about James Anderson then i dont know if we would have anyone on this board that could match up...maybe 1 if we are lucky, and that isnt me....

Are you Batman?

;)

If I told you, I would have to kill you.

In all seriousness, to make a long story short I've known him for quite some time; I'm quite a bit older than him but he'd always play up with all of us older guys in the neighborhood (bball, football, etc.) and him and my sister have been friends since they were little kids. So my name was mentioned because of that.

But don't get it twisted, in my apex my game was clean. Just ask campbest, I still cross him over on a consistent basis.
