TCU – On a Roll? There seem to be no easy games in the Big-12. The Sooners better be prepared to play a good game Saturday.

Here are the scores of their other Conference road games:

@KSU 55-53 L
@TTU 62-42 W
@WVU 86-85 L OT
@ISU 83-66 L
@ BU 77-57 L
@ Texas 66-43 L

so is 4 of 7 road games they have either won or been with in 10. They will be a tough out, but we should pull away late for a 10 point or so win.

TCU performance in those games says the Big XII has parity. There could be no easy games because no team is strong enough. We shall see come March. Non conference performance to date has not been impressive.

I thought the big 12 non conference record was the best it has been in ten years?

I don't know about the best in 10 years but it is the best this season. Boca is just naturally negative. He focuses on the toughest games and says the conference lost some or most of those. The problem with that is most conferences lost the toughest non-conference and did not win as many of the easy non conference games.

On a related topic, it is snowing in OKC.

I'll let these stats speak for themselves:

Big 12 men’s basketball has the nation’s best non-conference record
(105-22, .827). The Big 12 is the only conference in the nation that is at
.800 or better this season.

Big 12 men’s basketball has combined to post a 25-16 (.610) record
versus the ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC this season.

The Big 12 is the No. 1 conference in the RPI and Sagarin Ratings. Six
teams are among the top 28 of the RPI - the most of any conference in
the nation. The four top 16 teams are also most of any league

Big 12 men’s basketball has a combined .649 win percentage for its
teams - the best overall mark by any conference since 1990-91.

Seven Big 12 teams are ranked in the top 19 for strength of schedule - the
most of any conference. Nine league schools are in the top 58

Eight of 10 teams in the Big 12 have been ranked in the top 25 this
season. Nine of the 10 have been ranked or received votes.

Here is a sample of Big XII non conference losses.

Kansas - #30 Temple
Iowa State - #89 South Carolina
Oklahoma - #131 Creighton
West Virginia - #48 LSU
Baylor - #42 Illinois
Oklahoma State - #89 South Carolina
Kansas State - #157 Texas Southern
Texas - #50 Stanford
TCU - Only played 1 top 125 team.
Texas Tech - #259 Houston

Quality wins are few and far between. Kansas beat Utah, Iowa State beat Arkansas, OU beat Butler. Nobody else beat squat. Those are the facts.

Why didn't the ACC, SEC, Big Ten or Pac 12 do that?

He should change his user name to bocafullabull.

Repeating the Big XII marketing department talking points is not persuasive.

First of all who cares about averages? Second of all the Big XII only have 10 teams skews those numbers.

Only the top 40 or so teams plus the small conference champs make the tourney. Everybody else is just a schedule filler. If the Big XII lost to a bunch of schedule fillers in non conference and beat very few tournament caliber teams it's a huge red flag. That's all I'm saying.

Remember we heard this nonsense in college football. The Big XII was supposedly the best conference (lol lol lol) and that's why Baylor or TCU should have been in ahead of mighty Ohio State. Big XII flopped and Ohio Sate dominated. Big XII is very thin on NBA caliber talent in basketball. The same thing could likely happen in hoops too.

Looking at those non-conf. losses, I'd say it's a good thing South Carolina isn't in our conference.

Absolutely nobody ever argued that the Big 12 was the best football conference last year. The Big 12 only had two teams that could be considered good.

And as far as flopping, didn't TCU beat a team that was in the top 5 from the SEC for most of the season by like 50? And a generous 50.

I wonder if TCU is skidding - I mean riding - up I35 or flying?

I heard they came up on the Amtrak. That actually makes the most sense, because the Heartland Flyer does originate in Fort Worth and does stop in Norman.

They said on KFOR Sports a train had broken down in front of the Heartland Flyer and TCU had still not made it to Norman as of the 10:30 broadcast.
