Better now than against Baylor. In this league sometimes you have tough games against teams you shouldn't. I can remember losing games like this.

OU's first conference win by less than 11 points.

I'll take it.

OU never looked comfortable the whole game. Neither was I.

Tech had a lot to do with that, they played good defense!

Great win but that sure brought back memories of the early part of the season.

Our bigs had a total of 8 rebounds. Thankfully, Sharane and Gioya were willing to hit the boards.

Carter the only sooner with double figures....22 points and nine rebounds. Bad day for OU shooting the three... 5-18

During halftime, Jessica Coody said that Gioya had been under the weather.

Good win. It's not gonna be pretty every time out in this league, too many solid, competitive teams. Gotta learn to win this way too.

We were flat. We made little effort on the offensive boards. We didn't really work for our shots. Ws didn't collapse out on Tech. It looked like we thought Tech wouldn't show up.

Until late in the game, Kay Kay was a no show. Didn't work on the boards. She tried to look cute as opposed to scoring. They have no interior, but Kay Kay was simply lethargic.

I'm glad that it was Tech. We would have lost to Baylor, Iowa State, or Texas playing this way. You have these games. But, a bounce here or there can lose you a game when you are this passive.

Western Kentucky lost to UTSA. We should be ranked in the Top 25 on Monday.

I watched Baylor play earlier today. IMO, we will give them all they don't want, and maybe more.

No doubt we were flat, Syb.

But in the LNC it was obvious that every time KK got the ball, she was double teamed - and taking LOTS of uncalled contact. When that happens those inside shots are very tricky. At the same time it was disappointing that she missed so many for a while.

But when she is being double teamed, someone else is not being defended, and becomes responsible for getting open and scoring in open space. Perhaps we had not expected her to be defended that way, or perhaps our lethargy for a while was the problem.

But the girls did get very serious late, and won a game that would have been very easy to lose. This year's team has a will to win we have not seen in the past few years. Even on a day when they did not play at the top of their game they pulled it out.

Congratulations to the team and coaches.

They announced the "Fan Of The Game" who turned out to be Julie Ross, Jan's sister. Julie, Jan, and Sherri played together at Oklahoma Christian for several years. The best player on that team was Pam Kelly. They went quite a ways in the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City, and my dad still talks about attending that tournament..

Kay Kay missed a couple unguarded. She stood around a lot early.

Usually, I watch the tape of the game immediately after the game. Tonight, I went grocery shopping and watched OU at Baylor men. I just can't bring myself to watch the Tech/OU game again. It's like watching a Stephen King movie or reading a Russian novel. Maybe it's time to clean the bathroom.

Usually, it's pleasure. This time, it would be more like work, and I'm not paid for that. It seemed that several different people had their moments, none of them together. We had the Maddie run, the Peyton run, the Gioya run, the Gioya run again, the Kay Kay run, the Gabbi run, and the Gioya finish. Nobody seemed to continue to pay more than five minutes, except that Gioya did it several times, one minute each time.

After each of the runs, it seemed that we would give the ball to Tech so they could catch up again. It was like we weren't even on the court at times. Strange game of weird momentum spurts. Why isn't that wierd? Tech played hard. We showed how much talent we do have.

No team plays their very best every night out. It's impossible. Even the UConn teams that have gone undefeated won some games that were stinkers. For that reason, I don't worry too much if a team looks bad while they win. You just don't want it to become a trend.

One thing this team should have learned today is that the second time through the conference can be much tougher than the second time, no matter whether you played at home or on the road the first time.
