Terry Evans is 102-22 in last four seasons

They just won their conference and finished up 28-3 this year. Over the past 4 seasons, he is 102-22 as the UCO coach, good for 82%.

I dont care what level you coach, 82% win percentage is ridiculous.

Our coach has had an 83% season and a 74% season.

Take Away Blake Griffin and what does he do. From 81-82 to 05-06, OU had 25 consecutive post season appearances. In five years, Capel has missed the post season 3 out of 5. He has also led us to the first Back to Back losing seasons in 45 years. The longest losing streaks in 50 years. On top of that, he could not defeat Division II Chaminade.

There is no defense of the record.

i'm just saying that its not all about coaching.

You are right, however, Capel is completely responsible for the talent level or lack of talent level on this team. He recruited every single player. There is no one left over from the Sampson era.

Hey SoonerBounce,

Do you really think he has done a good job?

Coaching?

Recruiting?

Hiring?

Player Retention?

Graduating Players?

I dont always agree with Soonerbounce but i really appreciate his stance on Capel...also his aggresiveness in defending him...

I am kinda torn about him being replaced...there are positives and negatives either way...

I admit i dont have a lot of confidence in him right now, but THINK he can do it...i just dont know if that is enough anymore...having Blake really hurt him in this scenario because everyone dismisses what he did when he was here...i dont totally dismiss it, but one cant come to any other conclusion that most coaches could have gotten that deep with that team...

He needs players, plain and simple...like Cheno has always said, its less about x's and o's and more about jimmy's and joe's...well Capel isnt doing either very well right now and unless he gets a couple of jimmy's and joe's to turn this thing around i think the majority will be right wanting him gone...

Evans would make a great assistant. Hope Clyde gets him on staff if he becomes HC.

well, what strikes ME about TE is the feud he had with Kelvin and the real reasons behind why he left the last time.

Maybe it was because Sampson was a jerk and TE is a good guy...or maybe it was beyond that.

I do not know about a feud but that job was not for him. I made a joke the other day about how the only thing I ever saw him do was kick me out of practice once when I was watching, but that was literally true. Sampson always ran the practices, the assistants didn't do much, but Evans just stood around or sat in the stands. His position was all administrative stuff, making sure kids went to class, making sure recruits made it to places they had to on their visits, etc.

I just think he was unhappy in that role. He is a coach, but he did no coaching. So, after a year, we said thanks for delivering DeAngelo Alexander and he said thanks for letting me put this job on my resume.

EDIT: Maybe they did not get along. I am not saying they did. I have no idea about that. It would not surprise me.
