1 asst coach that was not even coaching last year
A coach that loses multiple players every year because he is a bad judge of character
A head coach that is just collecting a paycheck
A head coach with no offensive or defensive identity
A head coach that has no clue how to use substitutions and the bench
A team that can't play half court d
A team that can't play transition d
A team that does not get offensive rebounds
A team that does not get defensive rebounds
A team that cannot shoot the 3
A team that does not understand how to get a post man the ball (this was even a problem with Blake)
A team that does not protect the ball


At least with the "ugly" Sampson years we knew we would get good defense and rebound our hearts out.

This team is a joke, this staff is a joke and there is no end in sight unless Ahmed comes back (slight sarcasm).

I am waiting for someone to prove me wrong without an ad hominem. Curious how long it will take. For me to be proven wrong Capel would either need to land another BG or get a clue to what he is doing. That should happen right about the time hell freezes over.

Nick, I agree. You realize our newly promoted assistants was not even technically coaching last year.

What big time program makes a guy an asst coach that isn't even a coach. That tells you what Joe C thinks of the program. For Joe C to allow Capel to promote an administrative to guy to an assistant coach is a joke.

Could Capel really not find anyone better to coach? We have such poor technique on defense, and some of it is probably talent, but I think most of that is coaching.

5 years ago I went after Bob and the staff after the UCLA game because we had a QB that couldn't take snaps and made a threat about firing him. Well 5 years later has anything really changed for the staff? We have the same complacency. Still have weak schemes on defense and get beat deep a lot. Offense was really innovative when we had a NFL type QB with Bradford and some NFL talent around him but was our defense really that good those years? 06 was a really solid defense IMO. And even they looked horrible in the bowl game. Remember how we were down 28-7 or 10 against Boise? We were lucky to make a comeback.

All this said have we made changes to progress for championships? We haven't had a defense capable of winning a national title since 2001. Maybe 03 was but they played bad for one game against KSU. We have had good offenses some years. Really bad offenses others. And we've sent several top picks to the NFL draft. I'm thinking OU has only won in the last 5 or 6 years under Stoops because of talent. Not because of coaching anymore. We need a serious shake-up on this staff or we will go back to the standards we had in the early 90s were winning 7-9 games was good. Where now it's 8-10 games.

The only sane explanation was we could not get a big time hire because of the Tiny situational. Even if that is the case, o am sure Brian Goodman is a nice guy but why not go out and hire a big time AAU or High School guy that is connected and looking for his big break. At least then we get a player out of the deal. What did we gain with Goodman?

Okay whatever an I'm probably lighter on Capel than a lot of the people here. I can understand your arguments with Stoops he's a lot better accomplished. This isn't the place to argue about that. Capel is in the middle of winning maybe 20 games in 2 years. That's horrific in college basketball.

at most is see 7 games we can win left on the schedule. so best case right now we are looking at 12 wins after 13 last year. Pathetic

We have a huge weak link and blame the coach instead of him. Next year when he is gone and replaced by Osby/Goff we will win 20 games.

This should tell you all you need to know about the teaching and or recruiting our staff brings to the table. Only a blundering idiot would think these credentials qualify at the University of Oklahoma.

How do you know who I have met and who I have not? Again, sac up and point out where I am wrong. I have met Tubbs, Sampson, Kellen, Kline, Betts, Capel, Goodman and a whole other host of coaches. Give me a break.

Until you actually respond to the lack of things this team does well and the lack of credentials on this coaching staff I am through with you.

who's fault is it to have a 6'6 undersize guard defending and rebound against a 6'9 athletic post due to going small?
