They have the best player in Smart but OU is better across the board. Next year when Smart bolts it won't even be close between the two programs.

Rankings

LOL

Weren't OSU fans knocking our SOS the other day?

It's historically usually been a good bet counting out OSU early, late, whenever.

RPI sucks. All the other rankings have us well below OkSt.

I'm not saying we are better than OSU.

But we've played a tougher schedule and have the same number of losses. Make of that what you will.

And what might those rankings be? We are both unranked in the AP & coaches poll, tied overall record. OU leads in the Big 12 standings & RPI.

Looks like OU leads in 2 rankings and lil bro leads in zero.

OSU leads in KenPom's ratings

OSU also leads in Sagarin's ratings, but OU's SOS has been tougher than OSU's in both Sagarin's and Kenpom's ratings

i don't think OU has an impressive win. OSU does.

Just watching OSU, they look like a better team or atleast a team with more talent

Both of those ratings are adjusted for SOS.

That's why KenPom's ratings are called adjusted efficiency ratings.

OSU passes the eye test better than OU and is light years better in theory, but we have a superior coach at the helm. We're also deeper and more experienced.

I think it will be a close game, and we'll be lucky if we can win.

Kenpom has a SOS rating as a stand alone stat, just like his offensive and defensive efficiency stats (and his other stats)

I realize that.

But my point is that the numbers from him that are most often quoted -- adjusted offensive and defensive efficiency -- are adjusted for a given team's SOS, so that the stats are comparable and relative.

The only rankings that matter in college basketball are conference standings & RPI.

OU is ahead of junior in both. End of story.

I'm just thankful OU is showing improvement. I've been really down the last three to four years. I'm glad we have Coach Kruger and think he will continue to build the OU program. I think the Pokes have some really nice players, but have no idea how we will fare against them. :OU-logo:

So, your point has nothing to do with my post about SOS. Thanks
