Moser to Longwood.

But seriously, it sounds like Longwood's HC, Griff Aldrich, is heading to Virginia to be their GM. Per the Trilly 'cord and whatnot, of course. Griff has lots of money. It makes sense.

Speaking of GMs, I was DMed (on X) about OU getting a GM. Apparently it was said on Scoop's pod? I sincerely don't listen. Scoop talks to Joe Jr, obviously.

If I had to guess, right now, we're stuck with Moser, for better or worse, and OU will have a GM (THEY SHOULD HAVE A GM NOW!!!!!!!!!!). I don't see a job that makes sense right now....maybe Texas hires someone that'll set off dominoes? The perfect level for Porter is Drake, Charleston, somewhere in the MVC, or Horizon. But monetarily, not really ideal.
the talk on the pod was getting a gm "in the next few months"

Wonder if they're waiting to see how the Porter situation shakes out before they hire a GM. Perhaps they let the new coach hire the GM...or let Porter hire the GM if he ends up staying.

You should hire a GM regardless of coach so that you can easily keep recruits better. That's part of the reasoning they did the GM hire for football. I wouldn't be shocked if this is BV's last year if the team wins less than 9 games.

I’d put the odds of ou winning 9 this season at about 10%. It is the most difficult schedule in the country. I think 8 will be enough to keep his job.

It'll depend very much, I think, on how well they play and factors such as injuries. We have what's been said to be the toughest schedule in the country next season so we could conceivably be much improved and still have a so-so record.

OU should have been planning on this for months, not taking months now to make a hire when the portal is about to open and should already been talking to agents.
Joe C was waiting on NCAA rules, legislation, court decisions, revenue sharing, state laws, arena proposal, other hires, etc, etc., all for clarity before he decides to hire a basketball GM. Plus, he probably feels he is supporting basketball by sitting at the table by the south basket of the LNC for home games.

He has been the worst on waiting for decisions in this new era instead of just doing something, taking action, and asking for "forgiveness" later if it is wrong.

Totally reactionary and behind the eight ball since NIL and free transfers. The only thing he has done proactively ahead of the curve is contract extensions.
