'25 Coaching Carousel Thread

Meh, he has less final 4s than Moser. I am glad they didn’t get Wade or someone else better than Miller.
Yeah one less but he’s been to the dance 13 times in 21 years vs PM who just went to his 3rd. Multiple elite 8 and sweet 16. .713 overall coaching record in 21 years. And you want PM??

Miller didn’t do anything special at Arizona, a far better program than Texas.

Stop comparing him to Moser. There are some local high school coaches in the OKC area that have better resumes than Moser.

Overall Miller isn't some elite, great hire. Good one? Yes. I'm not sure making the Dance 13 times in 21 years at Xavier and Arizona is all that great. Again, I've acknowledged he's done some very good things. But overall, it's not a hire that scares me as an OU fan.

Uh you may wanna look again. But that’s ok when they continue to kick our butts we can recall this conversation

Read an interesting article about how after the House settlement is approved, power conference schools may actually be at a bit of a disadvantage compared to good mid major basketball schools ghag don’t have football. The latter group will be able to allocate much more money to basketball since it’s their primary money maker, whereas power conference schools will funnel a huge percentage to football and maybe only $3-4M to football.

To me, it shows a couple things. One, no one really knows how it’ll play out. And two, coaches will always complain that they have it worse than others. This article quoted a couple anonymous power conference coaches who said they think by next year, VCU and Dayton may have a financial advantage. (I immediately thought of Moser when I read that!)

Interesting but like you said so much uncertainty. Who knows when & if House will get implemented and especially how the fair value adjudicator will work out (IMO, pure fantasy).

But yes, I agree there is very much a misplaced sense of hope with OU/Castiglione that revenue sharing will solve OU’s financial woes across the board.

We should know very shortly for sure but totally my opinion. Porter stays. may change at midnight who knows.
Agreed… would like to think Villanova would have already hired moser if they were going to.

I hope so. I think there’s a chance to ride some momentum. I don’t want to start over.
Wouldn’t disagree with you if we weren’t about to embark on another offseason w/ significant roster turnover. And this year isn’t necessarily due to players going elsewhere just graduation and NBA. Just not confident in the nil folks getting behind Porter.
