What’s Nova doing? I think Willard is still in play there, but that doesn’t seem to be the word on the street.
According to people on trilly’s discord… Cronin is not interested. So I would guess it is Willard. Would have to think Porter would have already been hired if he was the guy they wanted, but I guess you never know.

Joking aside today

It's exactly what some have said, including myself, it's clear Moser wants to get the hell out of Norman.

But how? where? I don't see an opening, or anticipated opening, making sense. OU needs to waive the damn buyout....or reduce it significantly. OU would make the money up in "excitement dollars".

I just can't see Nova being that desperate. I think they're just moving super quietly and Moser is one of the only public names we've heard.

Sure is throwing a wrench in the theory that so many people outside of Norman love Moser. If they did, he'd be gone already from the sounds of it.
Sorry Moser, you’re either going to have to swallow your pride and go back to mid major or actually have success at OU to get out of Norman.

I think this is a fair point. How much is the buyout impacting him being hired elsewhere? I suspect it is anchoring him down a bit.
I think Porter took a step toward being able to move into a major program this year, but people will be shy about him until he repeats it. He could move into a mid-major role now, but probably not a major role.

I was actually thinking he could retire if they get to the title game.

His current contract runs thru 2026/2027 I believe. I wouldn't be surprised to see him finish that up.

Win a NC? Maybe that changes something, but he still looks like a guy that enjoys coaching to me. His family is part of the program, so he gets to see them. Established assistant coaches should relieve some of the tasks he would have on his plate.

Honestly, I think it should have been....

Ben McCollum - Indiana
Darrian DeVries - Iowa

McCollum feels like an old tactician from the era when the Hoosiers were most dominant. DeVries seems more like the coach Iowa needed.

Porter should’ve stayed at Loyola. OU bball has been where careers go to retire or die. Now he (and we) are stuck until he has a losing season again. Maybe not even then, since the AD seems OK with that. Not sure our AD even knows how to fire someone for performance reasons.
