'25 Coaching Carousel Thread

Geezus this is one of those times when you feel really, really old. Martelli Jr. sure got a leg up with the VCU job, no other HC position has spring boarded more college coaching careers then that program.
What that tweet fails to add is; his dad (Sr, of course) will be a part of the staff. Both Martelli's to VCU.

Vcu has been a really good job over the years. Idk if it still is. Prolly for a hc at Bryant it def is
hard to keep it going. win, lose your coach. next coach wins, takes a step up job. like Tulsa inna day with Nolan and Self. or even New Mexico State, win 25+ games lose yer coach. App State in football, maybe.

I always kinda liked Phil Martelli, sr. I was a sous-chef in an Italian restaurant many years ago in Boulder and St. Joe's was in town to play CU. He brought his team in to have some fresh pasta. He was a cool guy.

and plus he told Billy Packer to basically go F himself when Packer said St. Joe's didn't deserve their seed. As I recall, St. Joe's acquitted themselves well enough on the floor in that tournament.

Packer was a blowhard and about 1/100th as important as he thought he was.

Welp. McCollum, Hodgson, Hodge, and Huss all appear to be swept up. Will need to be a new group of names IF we find ourselves in a spot where we are looking for a new coach next offseason.
It is almost like, we as laymen fans, had a pretty good list of coaches out there lol

Well done board.

McCollum- Iowa
Hodgson- VCU
Hodge- West Virginia
Huss- possible assistant/Coach in waiting at Creighton

Not saying these guys are bad coach's but it's not like they all were hired by top tier programs.
Two power conference schools with solid recent track records and one of the most consistently successful non-power conference programs in the country? Seems pretty good to me.

I think they did briefly but I doubt the financials are/were much different.

ORU might be looking at two D2 guys - @ Dallas Baptist and Washburn.

I know they looked at a Gonzaga assistant (Barsh) as well.
5 d1 assts interviewing today and tomorrow.

Washburn guy is iffy bc he’s still playing. They want it done this week

Also, where are the folks who are claiming that we would have to settle for Crutch? As if some/all of these guys wouldn't have accepted an offer from OU last year, or even this year if we had decided to make the move.

DBU and Washburn happen to still be alive in the D-II tournament. If they both win tomorrow night, they meet in the finals.

Gonna preemptively toss out the HCs from UC San Diego and UC Irvine as way-too-early candidates for next year assuming they don't get snagged this offseason and continue having the level of success they've been having
