'25 Coaching Carousel Thread

Wish we'd see OU was increasing resources for Moser. Alas, no one wants to donate to a less than mediocre coach (25% tourney rate).
Exactly. Winning helps. The OU fans that go to games are a disgruntled bunch right now. Even if you think Moser did a decent job this year, there is no excitement for the program. We need a new leader, and yes, I'm talking about Moser, not Joe C.

Sorry, but this is dumb. If fans are that disgruntled about the coaching, they're dumb. Period.

The game has changed and OU hasn't changed with the game. It seems OU is starting to change now. You can't judge a coach when he's got one hand tied behind his back from a roster building perspective.

But hey, I can argue this until I'm blue in the face and pretty much everyone who will bash me for this is on ignore at this point, so go on with your bad selves.

How do we know OU is changing? A one-time donation from an ex-player doesn't prove anything. It proves OU has $1 million to use, which is nothing, in today's day and age.

Sure you can. What has he done with what he's had? You know the answer -- not good.

The answer can be both: we need more $$ and we could definitely use a better coach..

That's your OPINION. You are welcome to have it. And I'm welcome to think it's dumb as well. America!!!!!

Moser had Uzan, Oweh, Soares, Moore, and McCollum on last years roster and missed the tournament. It was probably the most talented team we’ve had since the final four team and we completely missed out on March Madness. And yet you continue to blame resources?

We lost at home to Sam Houston State. Do they have more resources? UC San Diego has been D1 for 5 years and was ranked ahead of us in KenPom this year even though we had a lottery pick. Do they have more resources? Acting as if we can’t judge Moser because he hasn’t had the resources of the elite schools is laughable. He’s done a poor job. He hasn’t adjusted with the times the same way that OU hasn’t.

How do you explain Godwin being our starting 5 in years 3 and 4 of his tenure? Thats not a resource issue. That’s a lack of being resourceful issue. When there are as many group of 5 schools with better bigs than us as there are, I don’t believe any excuse that’s thrown out there about resources. We’ve completely mismanaged our roster these past few years. There’s no consistency in player archetype that we target in the portal. There’s no backup plan if and when we miss out. I will continue hoping that Moser figures it out and succeeds, but I am not optimistic and will not lose any sleep if he eventually gets let go.

Choosing to believe, lol

I don't know where sportsbetting.org is getting their info. Sure, Porter wants out of OU, and was an assistant at A&M twice. He met his wife there. But it's basically the same job but with an arena that's 24 years newer. A&M might be a worse job because baseball is ahead of men's hoops in the pecking order.

He gets to reset his clock there.
