Did he say anything that was incorrect??He never misses an opportunity to portray himself as the victim.
Who knows? Unless you run out NIL budget, I’m sure you don’t. I don’t. But the bigger point is, I wish he would quit being a whiner. Stop talking publicly about NIL and fan support and the arena and the committee. In a decade as our coach, did Lon ever make excuses like that? To the contrary, he talked about how great it was to coach at a school with resources and a nationally known name and brand. If Moser wants to piss and moan to Joe and others behind the scenes, fine. He should do that to try to get as much support as possible. But doing it publicly is nothing short of embarrassing.Did he say anything that was incorrect??
Perhaps Porter can learn some PR lessons from Jameis Winston. Jameis is known as a goober and as an erratic quarterback. But when asked on a Thursday night last year about playing in the cold and snow, Jameis replied: " I'm so happy and grateful that the Lord has blessed me to play in some snow, to be in true football weather in Cleveland, Ohio, at Huntington Bank Field today...." Jameis earned a lot of fans that night.Who knows? Unless you run out NIL budget, I’m sure you don’t. I don’t. But the bigger point is, I wish he would quit being a whiner. Lon wasn’t dealing with this problem, so it’s apples to oranges.Who knows? Unless you run out NIL budget, I’m sure you don’t. I don’t. But the bigger point is, I wish he would quit being a whiner. Lon didn’t have to deal with NIL, but he was a squeaky clean coach in the toughest conference in the county at a time when cheating was rampant. He also faced subpar home crowds … and unlike Moser, he was actually beating teams like KU and Texas at home.Lon wasn’t dealing with this problem, so it’s apples to oranges.
I agree Moser should handle this differently publicly, but I don’t think he’s the only coach on campus having to battle hard for funding right now.
You can’t make the SEC move, then hamstring all sports but football by giving them pennies on the dollar compared to the rest of the conference.
Idk how anyone can disagree with this take. I get NIL is almost everything but you can moan and groan about it in private. Making excuses in public just isn’t a good look for anyone. I also wonder if it hurts his chances to land another job. He’s not gonna get another job that has much more NIL than OU (unless the AM job lands in his lap).Lon didn’t have to deal with NIL, but he was a squeaky clean coach in the toughest conference in the county at a time when cheating was rampant. Like I said, I’m all for Moser battling his butt off behind the scenes for every penny he can get. But quit the public pity party. It’s like athletes who talk about their injuries to excuse a loss or poor performance. Just not a good look. The other thing is, if you’re a player and hear Moser talk about how tough it is to compete when you don’t have NIL, you know he is basically saying that the team doesn’t have good enough players. Again, that’s something that you say to Joe behind closed doors, not in front of a microphone for everyone to hear.
"Man, Oklahoma....some of the greatest people in the world! But they don't have any money for basketball!"
Lusk is again saying that Moser is a real candidate to take the A&M job.
I’d be fine with this happening for two reasons:Lusk is again saying that Moser is a real candidate to take the A&M job.
Lol, yeah it’s the same people losing their minds picking through coach speak like it means anything substantial. What he actually said, which isn't nearly as bad as you portrayed:
"This thing with Oklahoma, the last couple of years you're kind of seeing that; there's been some things up in the Midwest (in terms of job openings)," Moser said. "But the people at Oklahoma are special. It's one of the greatest places I've lived. It's just you're fighting to get the resources right, and we are. We're moving in the right direction, and for what we had to do to fight through hard this year — because it is; I said about the lessons these guys learned, there's a lot of people who counted us out. There were a lot of people. I was like Bill Murray in 'Groundhog Day;' I was standing in front of them like, 'There's a path. You guys, there's a path. We've got opportunities; every game is Quad 1.'
"You just have to keep bouncing yourself up, but we fought through hard, and we're going to continue to fight through that. There's just such opportunity, just such a high vision of what we can do being in this SEC, and we're looking forward to it."
Lutz has a 6.75m buyout. Not sure he’s cheaper![]()
I read Lusk's A&M/Moser write up. You can even without a membership.
I won't post the whole thing.

45% seems too high. A better guess would be 15%.
Right now, I would give Lutz the highest odds. It makes more sense....even with OSU coming off a losing season. Lutz is from San Antonio and is much cheaper.
The Chris Mack smoke is probably real too. Another bald, cheaper option.
Technically, a bit cheaper (Moser's is $7.65 mm) but I was definitely thinking more in terms of annually and neglected to search out the Lutz buyout (duh, he would have signed a 5 or 6 year deal). Thanks. A&M could pay for most buyouts if they wanted to, I suppose.Lutz has a 6.75m buyout. Not sure he’s cheaper
Good reason to swing for the fences and take a shot on somebody.Let's say he gets the job. While some on here will be hosting parties to celebrate, I'm kind of wondering if this would be like a dog chasing a car and then catching up to it. Okay, what now? We're looking at some slim pickings trying to find a coach as we head into the middle of April...and get even further behind in the portal. The hottest mid-major coaching candidates have already been hired. On the flip side (yes, I like saying this), no alimony!
It’s not Lutz. Maybe Mack though.![]()
