When are you going to stop posting clever riddles and join in the discussions? Everybody knows you were wrong about Joe C's decision to hire Lon Kruger. I have been wrong before myself, numerous times, and I'm not too proud to admit it.

Despite an improving defense that could be better, this team is having a great season. You know that, yet you continue to remain on the sidelines. What's the point? Get involved again. If the season ended tomorrow, it would still be a success. Next year will be even better. Bookmark that prediction and play it back to me if I'm wrong. ;)

Nah better to be right then enjoy yourself (Internet message board rule #26).

I was probably less than lukewarm ... and now I am giddy with excitement. I have NO problems eating crow if it means the Sooners are doing well!! Heck, serve me up some seconds!!!

I was excited then and I am more excited now.

We were all wrong. Sid was, too. The difference is that we have admitted it.

I was optimistic with the Kruger hire considering the dumpster fire the previous regime left behind. He's exactly what we needed to build the program the right way, to last. I think he's brought us back to contention much sooner than I expected. I'm excited about the future of OU basketball, thanks to Lon Kruger.

I was upset for not giving Capel more time, in large part due to my thinking we would go hire an up and comer like Capel for about $750k. I was wrong on both counts.

I was very pleased to see JoeC open up the check book and optimistic w/ the Krugs, but i had no idea he would right the ship this quickly!

Bravo to JoeC and Lonny! Two of the very best in the world at their craft.

I didn't think we would be able to Land a proven coach like Lon,I was tickled crimson we did.I am very pleased with all he has done thus far.

Anyone who gets basketball realizes this is the toughest type of game to get a team to play its best defense. Definitely want to see the OU defense from the past month, not November. But it's human nature.

But to make an agenda driven comment like that, well...

Kruger's Sooners are up by 18 and about to finish second in the Big 12. How about that?

The end of the Capel era was bad. Probably worse than any of us remember. Kruger is exactly what we needed. And I remember thinking he was more a pipe dream. So I was giddy about the hire
And he has still exceeded my expectations.

I think a lot of the sentiment at the time of the hire was that Lon was a"safe" but expensive hire with questions about what he could do for us long term and if he still had the fire to bring us back to win quickly. I know I just wanted a coach who could bring us back to winning and winning quickly.

A lot of people wanted a younger up and coming coach like Buzz Williams and I know we don't like talking about it now but a portion really wanted Gillipsie also.

In the end only the most stubborn mules can say that Joe C didn't know exactly what this program needed and made a home run hire.

I begged for Kruger when Sampson left and then when Capel was fired I begged again. I remember having to convince other posters on here that Kruger will right the ship! He's a great coach. Probably the best coach in the history of the program if he stays coaching long enough.

He has a long ways to go to earn that title.

Or he needs to bring home a NC.

In your opinion.

We have never hired, before Kruger, a coach who took multiple programs to the tourney and who had coached in a final 4. He has a chance to go down in history as the best coach in OU program history. It all depends on whether he stays long enough (retirement).

I've also been wrong plenty of times. Heck, I even defended Capel (huh, Booger?) until it became apparent to me that he needed to go. When Joe C. hired Kruger, I believe I called it a "home run." Shows even a blind hog can find an acorn every now and then.

Would someone explain to me what Sid's post meant?
