I'm getting excited for Stallings for some reason, he seems like the best option.
Just to fuel your fire.
@GuerinEmig Staying w Kevin Stallings. Only guy I'm not hearing, so makes most sense. RT @ReggieDuncan: Who do you think OU will get as coach?

Stallings would be about 20th on my wish list. He may be a solid coach but he looks like that fat guy from the office. Vane, I know, but I just don't see him being able to go toe-to-toe with the best for top Texas talent.
Why are you excited about him, Sam? What has he done that has impressed you? Honest question here, I want to believe.
Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings has taken the Commodore basketball program to unparalleled heights in his 11 years at the helm, with success coming on the floor and in the classroom during his tenure. His teams have advanced to two Sweet 16 appearances, and off the floor, every Vanderbilt senior basketball player has received a degree.
Stallings became the second Vanderbilt coach in school history to have three 20-win seasons (Roy Skinner) after the 2006-07 season. He now has five 20-win seasons.
• He was named SEC Coach of the Year by SEC Coaches in 2007 and 2010, only the third coach in Vanderbilt history to win two of the presigious awards.
• Currently stands at 336 career wins and 213 wins in his 11-year tenure as Vanderbilt's head coach.
• He has coached three SEC Players of the Year (coaches) - Dan Langhi in 1999-2000, Derrick Byars in 2006-07, and Shan Foster in 2007-08 (AP and Coaches).
• Now in 19th place amongst winningest coaches in the SEC (at SEC institutions) with 213 Vanderbilt wins.
• He coached four SEC Academic Honor Roll members in 2009-10 in Elliott Cole, Joe Duffy, Chris Meriwether, and Jordan Smart. It pushed his total number of SEC Academic Honor Roll selections to 33 during his 11-year tenure.
•He now has 336 career victories as a head coach, which makes him the fourth current SEC coach with 300 or more wins, and his 213 Vanderbilt wins ranks him second all-time in the Commodore record books behind Roy Skinner (278; 1959, 1962-76).
He's done decent at Vandy .. but never really broken thru to the upper echelon overall. I know Vandy can't be easy to recruit to, but it has some advantages academically to attract smart guys.
Actually, to be fair lemme say he's done very good at Vandy with their regular season. He's just gets smacked at the NCAA's. IMO his style doesn't do him any favors.
Would Stallings be capable of coaching from the sideline?
He has consistently won at Vanderbilt. Only coaching option that has BCS conference experience.
He is winning and making the tournament at Vanderbilt, I know the SEC has been down recently but that can't be an easy task. Its Vanderbilt.
I'd take him over Marshall or Jones, both seem like the top realistic options right now.
Sorry but there's no way in hell Capel would do at Vandy what Stallings did. Not even a contest.
