Looking at everyone's schedules for the remaining four games this is what I think for the rest of the year:

1. We finish 3rd based upon splitting our last games 2-2.
2. We could drop all four and finish 4th or 5th if we take a nose dive, which might be starting.
3. We face WVU 1st game in tournament and lose.
4. We get an 8-11 seed in the tournament.
5. We eek out a win in the first round.
6. We get knocked out in the second round.

Now, I don't know if I have my B12 tournament brackets right, but this looked right based upon my predictions of final league play standings.

I think we are in some semi-serious trouble. I hope we can pull it together for the last four games but I know Baylor and OSU in Stillwater are losses. We should beat KSU at home and Tech on the road is a toss up right now.

It could be ugly in the Big Dance for us and we could go home after a single game.

You might want to recheck - we have 5 games left, not 4.

You missed KU at home. I think we should win all but Baylor, but that depends on everyone staying healthy and focused. I see Stillwater as close to a tossup, but we should win KU at home, and watching Tech at home against Texas, I don't think they match up well against us.

I think we would win the opening round against WVU.

Your NCAA predictions are probably correct, but if we could eek out a 2nd round win we get to come back to OKC.

You could be right. This team just isn't that good on defense. We don't get after people. Perhaps Sherri is so worried about foul trouble that she doesn't think she can afford to turn up the pressure but I would rather get in foul trouble than to let people beat us shooting open shots. Most of the time we can only count on Jo for rebounding but we still go out-rebounded by 8. Today, Griffin pulled down 9 boards which is really good for her. Going out in the second round is a distinct possibility as we get virtually no scoring from our bench and we are not good defensively. Right now we need to get back in gear and finish the conference strong.

Sorry for miscounting...

KSU @ LNC is a probable win, but possible choke to me.
@Aggieville is a definite loss.
Baylor @ home is a definite loss.
KU @ home is a probable win, but maybe not given today's outcome.
TT @ Lubbock. I hate everything about Lubbock except Buddy Holly and OU almost never plays well there in any sport. I'm saying probable loss based upon our last 2 games.

You might see us again at OKC. That is where we are supposed to go on our way to Nola!!

Mulk, you are correct about OKC. Mulkey will get to the final four without leaving Big 12 country. Two games in Wacko and the other 2 at Chesapeake Arena.

All of this looking ahead just makes me realize how much we've lost. Give us the four players that went down, and we easily come in second in the conference, second in the conference tournament, make the sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament which would put us back in OKC for the regional. Who knows what could have happened then?

Instead, we have gotten to watch a valiant effort against overwhelming odds.

It has been a valiant effort on the girls' part.

Still wish we'd had a full roster so we could have withstood the injury blow better.

Right now for OU's future, as we all know, it's all about recruiting. Sherri sure better not have a recruiting season like the last one. Sorry, I just don't think that one was very good.

I tend to agree with the first part of your statement. Not sure what you are referring to as overwhelming odds in the second part. We talk about the fact that we only have 8 players, and while that certainly makes practice more difficult most teams only play 7 and maybe 8 in a game. 3 of the last 4 teams we played only used 7 players, and we lost 2 of those. I think the good effort so far matches the talent level and we may well be facing overwhelming odds there.

Yes. When you consider that 3 of the 4 we lost have been starters, and that one was maybe the best all around player in the Big 12 (in the top 5 or 6 in virtually every statistic, as Vested pointed out), the fact that we're playing with 8 players is less of a hindrance than the fact that our talent and skill level went down considerably.

I certainly agree with this!
