Big 12 all conference team and awards

It's not a bad team. But, I do have a problem with a first team All-Conference who only started five games.

More appropriate for a sixth man award.

The first team has 3 seniors...Gardner, Moody, and Battle. It will be interesting to see which of those three get drafted. I'm guessing Moody and Battle will but not sure about Gardner.

Really? Sherri took a team picked fifth to #2, and "the coaches" selected Mulkey? I want to see the ballots.

It's called, "coaching" is more than just doing better than was thought. Coaching is recruiting/bench/etc. Why should Sherri HAVE to do a better job than thought. Do your job all year with great recruiting/developement/game coaching AND WINS and then you probably Win the Big-12 IMO. I think it is an Excuse to try and say, "well they did better than they were supposed to". Mulkey didn't lose 5 or 6 games AND she has every bit as YOUNG a team as Sherri has.

Go away vinny. Let us enjoy the many accolades our team recieved. They all work hard, coaches included.

And that's exactly what Coach Coale and Coach Pebley did this year. They "coached" their teams to buy in to the system, to play to the best of their ability and beyond, and achieve better than what was expected of them. You don't give an award to the "expected' or just because you won a conference championship, there is more involved. This was one of Sherri's best coaching jobs of her career and was very deserving of the Big XII coach of the year award.

Since you put Vinny's whining in my view, I have to comment. A full serving of petty unseasoned by any logic.

You all, Tango too, are BLINDED by your hatred of Kim. I too sincerely do not like her as well, BUT I can look past that and look at the TRUE jobs that were done. Did you NOT read my post, Kim has AS YOUNG A TEAM AS SHERRI, and did a LOT better job winds and losses than Sherri did. Think on that and THEN tell me why Sherri would deserve it instead of Kim.

Did you all watch Sherri coach against KU? The worst team in the Big-12 IN Norman and get beat. That is your coach of the year???? REALLY? Come on Crimson glasses HOMER's - Get real.

And NO, I won't go away. By the way, I have had over a dozen posters on here, many of you would know them, PM me and tell me to keep speaking the truth. So many DON'T see it through your glasses FYI

You two are THE most predictable, and by the way the ones who PM'ed me can't stand you two in particular.

Definition I found of troll:
"Being a prick on the internet because you can"

Wow that sounds A LOT like Tango and Syb - guess it takes one to know one hahaha

You either don't pay attention to posts people have made in the past, or just don't care. Every time 'Coach of the Year' for the men or the women is announced we end up in the same discussion. Too many people who vote on these awards simply vote for the coach who won the conference or the NC. The coach of the team that won the conference or the NC didn't necessarily do the best job. Sometimes, a coach who had to deal with a lot of injuries through the year did the best job. Sometimes a coach whose team made a huge turnaround from the previous year did the best job. It's not always the coach with the best record.

Thanks for your admonishment BUT I comprehend REAL well, lol. YOU must not read MY posts OR comprehend them very well. I said that the coach of the year is MORE than someone who did more than what they were predicted to do. Can you comprehend that Ms? Coaching is more than that, it is recruiting/growing your players/winning/bench coaching - do you think it is EASY for Kim to dominate our tough conference year in and year out? How hard is that? Do you give her credit for out recruiting and out coaching from the bench and Whipping all of our tails for 5 years? Well, I do. I DON'T like her but I have the ability to seperate that from common sense and many of you DO NOT. Fact!!!

I perfectly comprehended your accusation that people were blinded by their dislike of Kim, that their opinion was based on that alone. That simply isn't true.

Now don't you all be so hard on poor V.

He in essence admits he has trouble with analysis so he just likes to look at the record. That means in his mind: better record implies better coaching. Just look at the record - that's all you need to do.

But he has lots of company in that overly simplistic analysis. Many poll voters do the same -as we have talked about before. And no wonder. Most of them majored in journalism - not math.

All the normal Homers coming in for a shot, LOL. Again, predictable.

And you REALLY need to change your name. There is NOTHING sweet about you.

And Girl, I am NOT poor, LOL

One other thing Girl, Scoreboard, that's what counts or in the homers eyes like yours is it "well, we tried Really hard" or "our girls all make straight A's" or "our girls are really nice" LOL LOL LOL. Pitiful

Here is the thing. These girls are not going to be basketball players all their lives. Yes some aspire to be professional players, so aspire to be coaches, and some aspire to be broadcasters. Although these revolve around the game, some may not be around the game their whole lives. But what Sherri does off the court is what is going to make our ladies stand out when it comes to getting jobs. The ladies do a lot of volunteer work which will help them incredibly when it comes to getting a job and having a resume. I don't know what other coaches in the Big 12 do to help develop their players as "people" and not just as basketball players. But I assure you one thing. There is probably no coach better than Sherri Coale that does that in the Big 12 conference of maybe even in the nation. It's too bad they do not decide who the "best coach" is based upon off the court development as well. Sherri Coale is my Big 12 coach of the year.

If I was voting for the all defensive team, that would not be easy when judging players who play in a system that runs mostly a zone.
