Really? Sherri took a team picked fifth to #2, and "the coaches" selected Mulkey? I want to see the ballots.
It's called, "coaching" is more than just doing better than was thought. Coaching is recruiting/bench/etc. Why should Sherri HAVE to do a better job than thought. Do your job all year with great recruiting/developement/game coaching AND WINS and then you probably Win the Big-12 IMO. I think it is an Excuse to try and say, "well they did better than they were supposed to". Mulkey didn't lose 5 or 6 games AND she has every bit as YOUNG a team as Sherri has.

Go away vinny. Let us enjoy the many accolades our team recieved. They all work hard, coaches included.
You all, Tango too, are BLINDED by your hatred of Kim. I too sincerely do not like her as well, BUT I can look past that and look at the TRUE jobs that were done. Did you NOT read my post, Kim has AS YOUNG A TEAM AS SHERRI, and did a LOT better job winds and losses than Sherri did. Think on that and THEN tell me why Sherri would deserve it instead of Kim.
Did you all watch Sherri coach against KU? The worst team in the Big-12 IN Norman and get beat. That is your coach of the year???? REALLY? Come on Crimson glasses HOMER's - Get real.
You either don't pay attention to posts people have made in the past, or just don't care. Every time 'Coach of the Year' for the men or the women is announced we end up in the same discussion. Too many people who vote on these awards simply vote for the coach who won the conference or the NC. The coach of the team that won the conference or the NC didn't necessarily do the best job. Sometimes, a coach who had to deal with a lot of injuries through the year did the best job. Sometimes a coach whose team made a huge turnaround from the previous year did the best job. It's not always the coach with the best record.
Thanks for your admonishment BUT I comprehend REAL well, lol. YOU must not read MY posts OR comprehend them very well. I said that the coach of the year is MORE than someone who did more than what they were predicted to do. Can you comprehend that Ms? Coaching is more than that, it is recruiting/growing your players/winning/bench coaching - do you think it is EASY for Kim to dominate our tough conference year in and year out? How hard is that? Do you give her credit for out recruiting and out coaching from the bench and Whipping all of our tails for 5 years? Well, I do. I DON'T like her but I have the ability to seperate that from common sense and many of you DO NOT. Fact!!!

Now don't you all be so hard on poor V.
He in essence admits he has trouble with analysis so he just likes to look at the record. That means in his mind: better record implies better coaching. Just look at the record - that's all you need to do.
But he has lots of company in that overly simplistic analysis. Many poll voters do the same -as we have talked about before. And no wonder. Most of them majored in journalism - not math.
