Frank Martin (gotta buck the trend again; this man cheated to win HIGH SCHOOL games. Now that millions of dollars are on the line you think he's playing it straight? Doubt it. Plus the Delonte Hill/DC Assault connections are plenty shady, and, like I mentioned above, I HATE the way his teams play. That kind of overly physical play is bordering a different kind of dirty)

Not sure what exactly the rule is, but I think it has to do with the M being in a different font than the rest of Missouri. It's too bad, because those uniforms are awesome (that game also marks the first in the post-Quin era, game one of Melvin Watkins' short-lived stint as head coach).

Sawyer- don't really get the Quinn Snyder/Scott Drew comparisons. The one criticism of Drew from a coaching perspective that I think is valid is on the defensive end. Drew's teams have never been known for playing good defense (until last year). I attribute that to personnel and smurf lineups until Baylor was able to land skilled bigs. We'll see this year if the defensive problems of the past were attributed to that or schemes.

Snyder's teams in my opinion had talent but played with a lack of discipline. Lots of sloppy turnovers; poor FT shooting- at least his last three teams. Quin inherited a program in good shape and took them to the NCAA four years in a row. And then the wheels started to come off.

Drew inherited a program that was a disaster and has improved the final RPI of Baylor every year he has been there. Drew's teams seem to always start off with poor FT shooting and turnovers- like most college teams. But by the end of the year, they are usually in the upper echelon of college basketball in offensive efficiency and free throw shooting. The last three years according to kenpom.com, Baylor has finished 15th, 13th and 3rd nationally in offensive efficiency.

What am I missing with the Snyder/Drew comparisons? Lifestyles couldn't be more different either. Drew lives a clean life and if he isn't recruiting or doing something to build the program, he has no interest. The reputation on Snyder was closer to Larry Eustachy wasn't it? Lived for the party?

one more question: why are people picking Darrell Williams of OSU to lead the league in rebounding over a top five returning rebounder in Marshall Moses on the same team? Moses averaged over 8 rebounds per game last year. He's a proven commodity. I think there is always a tendency to fall in love with the newcomer, but rarely do those guys end up as the league leaders. Usually returning, experienced guys get those honors.

In the exhibition game Moses had 8 rebound, Williams had 13 in less minutes. In the other exhibition Williams had 15 rebounds and Moses had 2.

I don't know about Williams being more talented. When Moses is playing well he is one of the best rebounding bigs in the country. The problem is he tends to loss his cool and foul out or just mentally not show up sometimes. That said I think/hope Moses has a big year this year and leads the conference in rebounding.
