I am not going to disagree that Plumlee would have been a good option, I just don't think he is that much ahead of Adams. And I think they are asked to do different things.
Also what is weird about Plumlee stats. When he started (22 games) he got 5 more minutes of time but scored less then when he came of the bench Although the difference was .2 points a game.
The thing is though...we have 2 guys who are the same type of player and thats Adams and Perkins. Neither have any offensive game right now. Would Plumlee not be a better addition to Perkins?!?!
And in year 2, who looks like they are going to make a bigger jump? Looking at the summer league, Plumlee does.
For the entire playoffs, his MPG, RPG, FG% were basically identical to Plumlees regular season. He blocked twice as many shots per game. Those are the relevant stats for your starting center.
HE didn't score as many points because we don't give him shots because, RW and KD gonna do their thing.
And, he put those numbers up against the absolute highest level of competition possible. Those numbers came in 19 total games: 6 of which were against the best team in the league, 6 against the third best team in the league, and 7 against a team that was probably around 7th or 8th best in the league when healthy.
Meanwhile, Plumlee playing against much worse competition in the playoffs, had his stats plummet.
So I'll take teh 20 year old, and you can have the 24 year old.
B/c that was the argument that sperry was trying to make for some reason.Compare playoff to playoffs - WHy western coference finals to Olumlees reg season
Adams looks like Jabbar compared to Perkins IMO
I really have never seen what makes people excited about adam's offensive game. While he is better than Perkins, that isn't saying much. He doesn't finish very well and really hasn't shown many moves. When he does, it isn't pretty. Maybe it will develope but he isn't the offensive post that people have been wanting for the thunder. He is simply a younger more athletic perkins
I didn't say he has been a bust. And this isn't 2 years ago.I disagree...Just 2 years ago...Rose would have been #1. He hasn't been a bust. Not too mention...He's the only one who has been MVP
A middling outing for our guys tonight in a loss to the Raptors.
M'Baye had 9 points on 4-13 shooting -- 0-3 from three, 1-4 from the line -- with three rebounds, an assist, a steal and two turnovers in 25 minutes.
Clark also had 9 points on 2-8 shooting -- 0-1 from deep, 5-6 from the line -- with two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 16 minutes.
Not gonna cut it for either - especially Cam. Hope the both rebound well the next time out.
