Daimion Collins - now leaning toward Kentucky

What’s butler done since 2011? Yes 2 great years.

What has OU done under Lon other than Buddy's Jr and Sr season? I find it odd that you would want to dismiss back-to-back NCAA finals appearance and then criticize the rest of their decade for a bunch of first and second round exits.

Purdue 1 elite 8 in 10 years.

Better overall record, better conference record, more NCAA tourney wins. It's pretty hard to make an argument that Painter hasn't been doing better at Purdue than Oklahoma. Especially over the past few years.

There's no doubt that Lon runs a cleaner program than at least half of the programs I mentioned. In terms of off-court stuff, we're elite. I thought the statement made previously was that we're a top 10-15 program on the court, which is unequivocally false. We might squeak into the top 25 based on Buddy's tenure. If you exclude Buddy's tenure (which I'm not going to), we're probably more like 50.

Specifically the statement was "there are only about 10-15 teams that wouldn't trade their last 10 years with OU's last 10 years." I do not believe Louisville would trade their past decade, even with the punishments. I don't believe Arizona would trade their past decade, though that one is an easier argument to make. There's absolutely no way KU would trade with us -- probably not even if they got the death penalty for the next 2-3 years.

Lon has been here 9 seasons. We've finished in the top 25 only 3 times.

Ridiculous but fun to think about.

The mostly legal approach to getting a key recruit is hiring an assistant with an in with the recruit like Kentucky just did. We did that I think with Trae but was there another time?

Didn’t do it with trae.

A little with Pooh and Bryce but Pooh was probably getting it either way.

Been said before, Lon will keep you out of trouble, win around 20 games, get you in the "big dance" most of the time. Lon most likely will not win a NC at OU...Good guy, so-so coach IMO

He can rebuild a program with the best of them. But he can't seem to sustain a program at a high level. His teams peak and then trend down.

You say that as if winning a NC is the end all to a successful coaching career. But do you know how many of OU’s coaches, among them well known names like MacLeod, Bliss, Tubbs, Sampson and Capel have won a national championship? Nada, zero, nary a one!

In other words, if Lon doesn’t win a natty he’s in good company.
