Dids this season turn out better or worse

It turned out better than I expected. I thought we would be an NIT team at best this year

KSU got better this year. A LOT!
If thats your logic than KU got worse, losing to OU, OSU, and TCU? FYI, they are probably a #1 seed this year.

KU did get worse. FYI, they probably aren't a #1 seed, losing to Baylor most definatly gave them a 2 seed or lower.

With a Senior laden roster we did about as should have been expected. Lon will prove his worth the next couple of seasons. Lesser coaches would have us in the NIT, but I think we'll be on par with this season at minimum.

Worse. We lost to 3 teams that we shouldn't have lost too. We lost to TCU

As for Hield...his ppg will be around 3 to 5(remember this). Its obvious that the biggest contributor off the bench will be whoever doesn't start between M'Baye, Osby, Fitz and Clark. Neal will be 2nd in ppg off the bench.

I remembered it.

Also, this...

As much as I would like to pick OU high...We return a team that went .500 and we only add M'Baye who we know can contribute right away...everyone else is up in the air. And I for one will not get too excited for a bunch of freshmen that weren't ranked very high on any recruiting site.

Your right Baker. I wasn't planning on the Big 12 being the worst it has ever been. 4 out of 10 teams below .500 on the year.

Hield has done a good job...but your acting like he's the reason we've done good this year. He comes back...gets 25mins and 10pts against TCU and we lose. He doesn't play against ISU and we win by almost 20. We beat KU, he played 28mins, had 2 pts and we still won.

Let me guess if we surpass this year next year it will because of Cam and Neal? They will be the only two Caple guys left. At some point you have to realize Kruger brought guys in AND developed what Caple left.

:clap:clap:clap

You nailed that one, Booger. I gotta admit though, I'm still puzzled over your initial response to the thread about Ford yelling when an opposing player was shooting a free throw.

I probably didn't word it right, but I like competitive nature of Ford. I don't agree with all of his antics, but in the end the guy competes. I respect and admire competitors. Maybe because I'm uber-competitive too. Every facet of my life is competition with someone and I love a challenge.

If next years team surpasses this years team...I will be shocked...Absolutely shocked.

Kruger has developed Capel's players...I realize that. This has nothing to do with Capel. I'm not that impressed with Hield as much as you guys are. I think he will be good but we need better talent then what were bringing in. Hield is averaging 2 more ppg than Fitz and Clark and he is also getting almost 9 more mpg as well.

And if you didn't notice, when Hield was out we played some of our best Bball. We beat WV, ISU, and Baylor by 15pts. And we should have held on to the 22pt lead we had on Texas.

Here is another one for the almanac... :ez-roll:

Hield has a much bigger impact on defense and the other facets of the game and can score when needed. The problem is Buddy doesn't look to score as much as he could because he recognizes we have better options (Ro, M'Baye, Pledger). I don't have a problem with that.

Like miss free throws that cost us the game against SFA

No, like score 17 points in a single half at Texas-Arlington to help us win.

Its sad that we needed 17 from him to help us win that game. UTA is 5th in their conference. Maybe if Kruger wasn't doing his 5 in 5 out, it wouldn't have been a close game.

Nonsense. There was a stretch of games before his injury where 3/4 games he simply wasn't getting it done efficiently on offense, but was still taking more shots than he should have been. Hield didn't stop looking to score, the better defenses made him ineffective.

I'm as high on Hield as the next guy, but he struggled to score the ball, other than on put backs, once Big 12 play started. If my quick math is right, he shot about 16-17% from three during Big 12 games.

Vs KU 0-3
vs ISU 2-5
vs Texas - 5-8
vs KSU - 4-9

I would say you are wrong. Nonsense.

I like when I say 3/4 games, and you list about 4 games, and ignore the others.

And 9 shots against KSU, with the pace that game was played was too many. 12 against WVU. 9 against TT. 11 against KU. 7 more against KSU. 7 against TCU before he got hurt. 14 against TCU on Saturday.

And I believe those were just the games he shot under 50% in.

You said 3/4 games so I showed 4. Even if I had shown 3, it still would have disproved your point.

Maybe next time you shouldn't say "3/4 games"...just a hint. :clap
