For those of you wondering why Fitz didn't start earlier this year.....

He and Tiny both have lost a lot of weight in a fairly short amount of time, and when you do that, it can slow you down from improving your game. Another thing about that is they are use to playing and getting away with moves at that bigger size that they can't do now and they are try to come up with new moves so that is why I've been kinda leaniant with their play this year. Not only are they learning to play at another level, a Big 12 level, they are also learning new things about their body and game.

Finally some reason within this crowd of idiots!! The kid is a freshman playing against one of the most talented/experienced frontcourts in the league and the nation. There is a reason why almost every Big East school offered Drew a scholly. And maybe theres somethin up with the way he runs, but i'll take a kid that plays his ass off and runs a little funny over any of you guys and a lot of players out there.

Ripping a freshman coming off an injury, who has played very well the past few games is not okay. Who should Capel put in his place, Ryan Wright? RW went 0-1 from the field and fouled out in only 7 minutes. The remainder of his stats were all zeroes.

You don't think poor officiating had something to do with this?

Poor officiating wasn't responsible for all five fouls...all you have to know about Wright's production in general this year is the play where he catches the ball wide open underneath.

Instead of turning and dunking the ball, he hesitates, puts down a dribble (from four feet away) and ends up getting swatted by James or Pittman. He's just soft.

You answered the question for me. Thanks!

Hey TU, how long do you think you can go without putting somebody down? A couple hours? 45 minutes?

Tell you what. For every day you can go without saying something negative about anything I will stay away for a week.

You have serious issues.

RW starts to play the game he usually plays (I'm talking on D) and gets called early and often ....that took him out of his game. He had a double double in Norman...just couldn't get into the flow thanks to poor officiating.

Alll I'm saying is his stat line is bad....but it's not all his fault.

I don't disagree entirely that early foul trouble took RW out of his game. He has had some good outings this year. But he is also capable of completely disappearing. Ryan has been so inconsistent his entire career you never know what to expect. He's a three or four minutes at a time energy guy, not someone you can depend on in a six or seven man rotation.

That's what happens when the player (Pattillo) you were counting on is booted off the team and you fail to replace him with a quality post player. I think most of us knew (predicted actually) that our depth at the post would be a problem this year. I don't blame that on RW. He plays hard. But if fans on this board saw it coming, our coaches should have too.

No wonder Howland showed him the door...probably got tired of Aboya and Mbah-a-Moute working him over every day.

I'm not so critical of our guys. I think they did what was needed to get 13 and 11 point leads. The game plan and formula should have been "put Texas on the free throw line... but be selective on who we foul."

Capel didn't play enough guys to make this work. Orlando should have been in for four fouls. Willis should have been in for two or three and it wouldn't have hurt to have Gerber in for a few minutes.

As it was, both Fitz and Ryan tried their best defensively and made fouls but then it came to a point where they were playing cautiously so not to foul out.

If Fitz's ankle is healed I think we can beat Texas on a neutral court. But we have to go deep on the bench if for no other reason but to get Texas into the one-and-one.

Clown post.

Might have something to do with the injury he suffered on Saturday, dontcha think?

His running looked pretty normal (for him) to me. The guy is too slow and must improve his speed if he wants to be a star in the Big XII. I think he can do it, but he has a lot of work to do in the offseason.

Pot, meet kettle.

Stay away a week? You were going to stay away until next season and that didn't last a week.

Fitz proved he could play in this league against Kansas. He's injured, he's a freshman and he had a bad game last night. That simple...
