First, I have quit worrying about what OU does with Porter. Just choosing to enjoy the run for however it lasts.
Second, I think we are watching the birth of a real superstar in Fears. We will see. No way he stays, but wouldn't it be fun to see him as a sophomore.
Third, as all the regulars on this site knows, I have been beating the drum for Wague to be used more and last night is what I envisioned he could do. To be sure, you couldn't and won't get that every night, but in games when you do, regardless of the opponent's frontcourt, you will be competitive there. defensively.
Fourth, I just can't see anyway we can beat Kentucky. But, I also thought that the last time we played them and we very easily could have beaten them. and nearly did So, here's to hope. It springs eternal. Just having fears gives us at least a puncher's chance.
Fifth, besides getting to watch Fears, I think the best thing about this team has been the play and, most importantly, the leadership of J. Moore. He has held this team of vagabonds together, kept them positive and never quit. Played a big role in the development and growth of Fears, and I think has played a big role in keeping these kids more team oriented and less selfish. If we make the NCAA tournament, we will owe a big debt of gratitude to Moore. Great kid too, my wife and I got to meet him at the practice we went to and he just has a great personality and is very engaging. I really hope he can find a way to play basketball for a living.
