Game day OU vs UCF now FSOK

I thought Reaves was a spot shooter, not a black hole. Holy cow. Dark matter's got no chance against him. Every shot he took in the second half was a bad one.

Fantastic minutes by Kuath after the break. I'm not sure we win without them. 8-10 minutes of that per night would be huge for this team. I'm not going to set my watch to it, but he was very important out there in the second half.

Get the ball to Doolittle. Traveling or not.......GET THE BALL TO DOOLITTLE.

Reaves is probably one of our best players, but he acts like he is Kobe out there.

Just finished watching the game on DVR. What a pathetic effort. Right now we are a poorly coached, low energy team of underachievers with minimal talent. It would almost be better if we lost a bunch of games and missed the tournament so we can get rid of Kruger. He’s hit his ceiling with this program.
You didn't watch the same game. It's hard to win a lot of games with poor guard play like we've had. The only real coaching issue I've seen is we play Bienemy and Harmon together too much.

Would like to hear Wichita's take on reaves rn

He played like garbage. Unlike many of you, I don't hesitate to see both sides, which I why I've also readily acknowledged that JB, who is my favorite player other than Doo, needs to step it up. Reaves needs to eliminate all the possessions where he just decides in advance that he is going to shoot no matter what. The last possession was a travesty.

What I'd like to hear is all the people who declared a couple days ago that Kur wouldn't be able to give us any meaningful contributions in any competitive games the rest of the way.

So you think this team is well coached? Really? Also who is responsible for our lack of talent and poor and/or nonexistent offensive sets? Who is responsible for the teams lack of effort?

This

He needs to understand he’s one of three scorers we have

Hero ball needs to go away

If only there were some sort of “head coach” that could convey this information to him in an authoritative way.. if only.

But will Kruger get him in? If only 2-3 minutes every 10 to give manek and or Doo a break.

Actually, Sooner04 did just that...give him well-deserved props, and he has no use for JUCOs. Now is probably not a good time to start unnecessary arguments. The team is playing awful, and the natives are getting understandably restless.

The past three seasons, we were better in November and December than we were in January and February (which is bad in and of itself). If that happens again this year, we will end up with a worse record than three years ago.

If you want posters to be a little more positive, the best remedy is for the team to play to its capabilities. Simple as that.

Reaves needs to be used differently in my opinion. Needs to be less of him having the ball in his hand trying to make something happen and more of him running off screen after screen and spotting up. JMO. He's not Tyler Herro.

Anyway, I'm not going to be too negative. An ugly win still shows up as a win. They showed grit coming back.

I heart Doolittle. A warrior.

Ugly win but it’s a win. Defense was amazing in the 2nd half. Thought Harmon & Manek was solid. Kur had a good stretch in the 2nd half after a terrible 1st half, & Hill did his job. Doolittle was a monster.

JB did a lot of nice things but if you are a guard and can’t hit a wide open shot it makes it hard for other guys to get spacing to make plays. Alondes is the same on shooting, only right now he’s not providing defense or smart plays. Iwuakor still needs to figure it out. Reaves should get his *ss whooped by Doolittle for how selfish he’s being.

One game does not a season make. And while UCF is solid, playing them at home is a long way from a B12 road game, or a B12 home game against the top half of the conference. Point being, I would LOVE to be proved wrong, but I still need to see some consistency from Kuath before I can count on him as a viable contributor on anything but a very hit or miss basis. It was great what he did today, so hopefully he'll be able to build on it, and, almost as important, hopefully Kruger will give him the chance to do so.

Our offense or lack of offense is awful to watch. It is like a men's league where whoever has the ball shoots. So little movement and ball movement.

JB can’t play this bad the rest of the season...right?!? He’s unplayable IMO right now. They were daring him to shoot and he took a few that he was insanely wide open only to miss.

I will amend my statement a bit. Thought he played well on D.

I also agree with everyone else Austin has got to stop shooting so much. He’s making awful shooting decisions. Anyone remember the last time he took a wide open shot?

I’m super nervous for conference play. Glad we got another win though.

How much different would this team look and how different would your opinion of it be if JB was shooting 30 percent behind the line? I understand that is a big what if, I am just saying teams look a lot better when the ball goes through the hoop. The offense seems to be generating a lot of open shots so it’s doing it’s job, now they just need to make a few.

Of course it would be a lot better... but I will say the offense isn't really generating open shots. They are literally letting Bieniemy, Williams, Harmon, etc shoot the ball. UCF didn't even defend them, on purpose.

The shots hit by Reaves, Manek, Doolittle were, for the most part, well defended or contested. At least had a guy running out on them. They hit tough shots. Manek hit the shot of the game, the long 3 with around a minute left. OU loses without that shot, and it was a tough 3 in a pressure situation.

But if JB is hitting just a decent amount of those shots they aren’t able to double and sometimes triple Doo. Just saying the offense wouldn’t look so stagnant if the D wasn’t able to just forget about him.

That shot, by the way, was made possible by a GREAT screen by JB. That is one example that leads me to believe that JB is shooting poorly, but isn't playing poorly. Huge difference. And shooting slumps can end quickly, which is why I'm holding out some hope that it's just a matter of time.
