LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -- Sources tell KCBD Billy Clyde Gillispie 'looks good' to be the newest Red Raider basketball coach.

After rebuilding programs at University of Texas-El Paso and Texas A&M, as well as a short stint at the University of Kentucky, the Abilene native could be headed back to West Texas in the coming weeks. No time table for the hire has been determined yet.

Look, BCG would be a good hire. We'd be excited, probably have a turnaround, etc. But it would go against every indication of how Boren and Joe C operate.

I don't think someone like BCG will be in the mix as long as Joe C and Boren are around.
