frustrating, exasperating and a ton of other similar adjectives.

But (screw grammar rules) it was a WIN!!

I am honestly not sure what to really take from this game as if this team could make a few open threes they win an ugly one in regulation.

The defense was sloppy to say the least to allow "tatted up lost all his money in 10 years" Justin Bieber score 22 points. One thing that could help on that is communication, I noticed a few times one guy would try to switch but didn't talk on D. Leading to attempt at a poor double team and then scrambling ball rotation before giving up an easy hoop.

I guess the best coaching thing I saw was going into the post early and often in the second half. After way too much ball reversals with no attempts at penetration in the second half the pounding it inside was so refreshing. Thompson's passing can be deadly to the middle of zones, love it.

Also this team fought which was very nice to see, I know it should be a given for any team over pee wee but given the youth and newness of this team I was afraid it might've been over a few times.

Oh well this team is 2-0 and I know they're battlers now so I guess I'll take from this game and use it to wipe away the ugliness.

/post game OUhoops rant over

Sooner,
It is nice to see that somebody else on this board went to the game. I have noticed that recently a lot of posts on the board don't come until after they have seen the highlights on soonersports.com.

We need more people to stop making excuses and go to the game. The few of us that were there in OT had a great time, but it would have been even better had there been half as many people as the ones that stuck around for the Baylor OT game in 2007-2008. That would have made it pretty fun because from the minute Pledger hit the 3 to tie it, we ended up with an exciting game with a little bit of Sooner Magic. Too bad nobody was there to see it.

I had a good time though. I nearly lost my voice after that blond haired ref tried to give them the game.

Sat in front of Cam's parents tonight. They were very nice!

Sam you are right on. There seemed to be a lack of communication on defense tonight that led to easy baskets and fouls. There was a couple times that we seemed lost fighting around screens, and knowing where Vanilla Ice was at. But they really locked up the D in the second half and OT.

Offensively they struggled with the zone and looked like they didn't know how to attack it, but did a good job getting the ball to the high post in the second half. We need Newell and Cam to start attacking the basket and breaking down the zone or else teams are going to continue to collapse on Fitz in the post. Tonight we did a lot of passing the ball around the perimeter and forcing shots.

The crowd was pretty lack luster for the majority of the game, but the Sooner Faithful that were there stepped up in the clutch and were pretty rockus in crunch time. Boomer Sooner!

I know what you mean Capelfan, as much as I hated the fact that we had to go to OT vs North Carolina Central I love the atmosphere there despite there being under 4k. It was fun stuff to watch in person.

Rewatched the game on DVR, honestly was so out of it/posting on here and stuff didn't really see much of note.

Calvin and Nick really are fiery individual, Nick's look after he got knocked in the 2nd half was enough to kill an elderly person with a weak heart.

Nick's passing looks even better the 2nd, 3rd, 4th... times.

Billy Tubbs as a color commentator, holy crap just plain amazing. I think I am going to make a book of "Billy'isms" this season.

Bad shooting looks even worse the second time around.

Andrew Fitzgerald's 4th foul is even worse the second time around. Come on big Drew, I know hedging off the pick is a good move to avoid the quick shot off the screen but use your head man. You just picked up foul number 3 and you're are number 1 scoring threat, don't pick up foul number four 30 feet from the hoop.

Big Puma's block to end regulation, HUGE!

A win is still a win.

I just took it as this. Last game and this game are building blocks. So far both games we have trailed a majority of the game. Not what I hope for, but it is a good way to learn how to dig yourself out of a hole and not get caught up in the moment but keep composure.

We also learned a little about OT with such a young team. Who wants the ball, who wants to step up and make the plays. How can we handle going the distance.

There is a lot of building blocks that the team will get from these two wins. Granted neither was pretty, but maybe thats even better that they werent blow outs. I mean I have heard you always learn more from a loss than a win. So maybe the same goes with quality of wins.

I was surprised that we were able to come back and win, but we did. I'm not so sure last years team would have done so.

There is a lot to work on for this squad but they are 2-0.
