Has eight big 12 teams in the tourney after including kstate today, wow!

We should have won the game, but I don't think the KSU loss will show up under "bad losses" when the committee looks at our resume in March.

That would be great. I would really love to see everyone win their opening round game. That would make for a really nice four day weekend of basketball in the first round.

It would be nice to make B12 basketball the SEC of football.

Why would you want to be a normal conference that was horrifically overrated?

Look at their non-conference winning percentage over the past 10 years or so. They also won the national title a number of consecutive years. I understand that people think the media's circle jerk related to the SEC is overdone, but the numbers speak for themselves (and I'm not using one year's worth of stats to make a point). And I doubt the national attention given to the SEC has hurt them from recruiting many of the highest rated players and at the same time hurt their pocketbooks. Many conferences would not shy away from having these problems.

Great response!

Great post!

The SEC was the best conference this year. It has been the best conference the vast majority of the last decade or so. That's not "a normal conference."

Also, I believe Lunardi uses the auto-bid to the team leading the conference. Right now that's KSU. The last four in are all 11 seeds. That means KSU might only be in by virtue of a 1/2 game lead that no one expects will hold up.

There's no way both KSU and OSU get in unless one of them wins the conf tournament. There simply aren't enough wins to go around. 6 teams is more likely than 8 IMO.

Pretty difficult to make the case that the SEC was better than the Pac 12 this year.

The SEC has been a good conference. They, the Big XII, and the Pac 12 have each been the best conference at various points in the past decade.

But that's not the picture that has been painted.

The sec hasn't beaten a power 5 school in a bcs/New Years 6 game since the 2010 football season

How did that Big 12 vs SEC Basketball challenge go this year? Who is the number two team in the SEC this year? How many losses would Kentucky have if they played in the Big 12?
