Official visit this weekend. 2nd trip to Norman!

🔥

Pritchard
Brunk
Doolittle
Gibbs
Mcgusty

That would be a pretty salty class.

Are we completely out on Marques Bolden?

I think brunk may pull the trigger this weekend. No inside info on this one.

Wouldn't surprise me either. Brunks first visit to OU in November was with his friend, Payton Pritchard. Word is that Payton has been working on him to join him in next year's class.

Mich State, IU, Iowa, Purdue, Butler and Illinois are among a number of schools to offer Brunk so far. He's not one of those players who will wow you with his athleticism. He's a true low post player who uses his size and skills to get good position inside. He reminds me a lot of Kevin Bookout in the way he plays.

You'd think it would be tough to pull him out of Big 10 country with those offers.

Looks like a solid player.

Is 247 showing that we are not even recruiting him? Or have not offered? I do not see OU listed at all.

I like Brunk. Classic looking post. Understands how to play in there.

He's offered. And hes coming in on an Official Visit, his 2nd vist, first one he paid for entirely. I think we are interested and so is he!!

Thanks CoachTalk. I assumed something was missing from the 247 site. Hope he has a good item this weekend and pulls the trigger. :OU-logo:

You're right, it will be tough. I'm hoping his relationship with Payton, and his developing relationship with our coaches will trump the lure of the Big 10 schools on his offer list. He is definitely interested in OU or he wouldn't be back for a second visit, this time an official which will allow him to see and do more on this trip.

I read on another site that Joey Brunk was really impressed with his Sooner visit last November but it was going to be tough to get him to commit very far from home in Indiana. I did find this excerpt following his unofficial visit in November:

Brunk, at 6-foot-9, has offers from New Mexico, Xavier, Iowa, Purdue, Ole Miss, Indiana, Butler, Northwestern, Michigan State and Oklahoma.

But Brunk was on campus earlier this month. “I had a great time when I was out there,” Brunk said. “It was a good experience with coach Kruger and coach Henson, for sure.”

By sheer coincidence, Brunk came on his unofficial visit with 2016 verbal commit Payton Pritchard. It wasn’t a coincidence that Oklahoma had interest in the back-to-the-basket big man. Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger coached a family friend when he was at UNLV. Through the grapevine, the Sooners took interest in Brunk. “He kind of put in a word for me,” said Brunk, who has visited Indiana, Butler and Oklahoma this month. “He told them about me and they came and watched. He did that, and that’s kind of how the relationship started.”

Still, Brunk tries to watch as many games as he can. “I try to watch at many games as I can of the teams that are recruiting me,” said Brunk, who is working on his face-up game. “I try to watch as many of those games as possible.”

Has he been offered by OU yet? I can't find him as having an offer online (I realize online services are hit and miss).
