Note her favorite player.

2020 Katelyn Levings favorite player is Maddie Manning. The 6’3” Edmond, OK native started as Freshman for her HS (Edmond Memorial Lady Bulldogs). Levings plays her summer ball for the 17U Ok Swarm Bluestar. Katelyn was invited to attend the 2017 USA U16 girl’s tryouts. She made it to the final 37 out of 133 girls which is outstanding. That is better than half the girls who attended this year’s tryouts. Levings honors doesn’t stop here, up to her Freshman year of HS, Levings was nominated as a Bluestar 30 player, Vype 100 Basketball player, All Vype Basketball player, All Big City Basketball (honorable mention) and All State Basketball (honorable mention).
When you think of a 6’3 athlete you automatically think basketball player or even volleyball, Katelyn was also on the Edmond Lady Bulldogs track team which they won State. She was the class 6A state runner up in the high jump.
Not only is she an exceptional Athlete, but she is a 4.0 Student and she is in the Oklahoma Honor Society. Katelyn wants to someday become an Occupational Therapist. Katelyn Levings likes to spend time reading, creating Art, listening to music, playing sports, and spending time with her church youth group. She also Loves going on mission trips, (been to Nicaragua and Santa Cruz) and going to Africa next Spring. This young lady already understands the meaning of giving back and helping those less fortunate. I can’t stress enough the importance of being an outstanding USA citizen.

Levings sounds like she would be a great young lady to stay home and represent OU. Some kids decide they need to leave others want to represent their state and home. I hope she stays I think sometimes all the excitement of going away kids forget what hometown and family support mean. I however thing Levings is a smart young lady and realizes what playing for her state means.

Why wouldnt she go to OSU camp it's in her back yard. Kids all over the country are going to camps - and yes there are usually about 5-10 kids of the 150-200 kids at these camps that can actually play at these schools but it's still a great way to promote fan base and get those handful of kids tonyoir campus in a "they are the focus" moment. Inviting kids to games is fine but coaches are coaching at camps you get real time with these kids. However remember elite kids will go to 3-5 elite camps a summer but most won't pass up the ones in their backyard. Camps can't hurt and all programs should have them imo and most do.

Do we even know if Sherri and the gang have made any contact with her?

Earlier in this thread I noted that SoonerNorm posted several times. Checking his posts on this forum, he hasn't posted since June of last year. I had already noticed his absence previously... Anybody know why he has quit posting, or shouldn't I ask?
Perhaps illness, or just burned out?

Norm is over on a new board, you'll have to Dm him if you want the site address... Norm seems to be over this board, and with the attitude of so of the posters here I can't blame him, even I have thought maybe I should take a break at times... on this board you have to love Sherri, or you have to hate her, seems like anything in between isn't allowed...

Well, like every relationship between a man and a woman, or a sports team/coach and its fans, Sherri and I have our ups and downs.

Same on this board.

Most of the time I want to smack the living S*** out of Syb. Sometimes he's decent and reasonable -- and on those rare occasions, I like him.

Norm was the most knowageable poster on this board, IMHO. Some wanted to disagree with anything he posted. His new board is very cordial. I have not seen ant name calling, arguing, etc. on it. A breath of fresh air. Very fair and balanced.

Would someone pm the site name or URL. I want to reconnect with Norm who did have a great amount and info.

I'm going to keep posting over here until sybarite admits that Sherri has become complacent in and is stealing money from the University.

I shouldn't bother to respond to that. But, you will have a long wait. The subject isn't even in my field of vision. The financial aspects of a program don't interest me, other than I tend to think that the mere existence of sport at a university is a misguided expense in a utopian world.

I have always found it interesting that this has always been directed at Sherri. Her record has been better than any men's basketball coach we have ever had, and I don't see any great calls for them to refund a part of their salary. Sexism perhaps?

You keep on waiting. I have other things of much greater interest.

Avoid responding with your usual superior, know-it-all attitude. If you can't misdirect you avoid.

FTR, I don't begrudge Sherri one red cent of her salary. She deserves it. She's earned it and, in the past she's been worth it.

She has problems right now -- mostly of her own making. The program is slipping. She barely has enough kids to practice. There's no forward momentum, only faltering. This team hasn't improved one iota in three years and recruiting, while better the last couple of years, has ended up a fiasco because of the departure of Mulkey and Dungee and their unwillingness to commit.

Sherri has got to "get moving' as Patty Gasso said about other programs at OU and elsewhere. "We're championship U."

Sherri needs to take that to heart and change some things up.

I know some question the commitment of the player (the ones that left) why not question the commitment of the head coach. Does Sherri spend too much time at dinners and fund raisers than she does recruiting/coaching ?
