March Madness and Covid-19

I think he’ll be alright unless he is over 65

Not 65 yet...but my age doesn't dictate my actions. I just try to find a line directly between being paranoid about catching it and acting as if the virus does not exist.

I see Florida set a new personal worst for Covid cases today...guess I won't be headed to the beach anytime soon.

You and Steve should just get a room and jerk each other off. I’m sure Rapey joe Biden would approve.

You seem really excited thinking about it... do you have some suppressed feelings you want to share with the group?

THIS is exactly why I refuse to believe this is a problem on the scale it is being presented on. Sorry, I can't get behind blowing something up this big, that happens so infrequently. Yes, speaking of each individual case where the cops are guilty, it's a terrible thing. But to tear our country apart, not just physically, over something that is happening so infrequently, that infuriates me.

The other is the notion that any time an unarmed black person is killed by a cop that it's a "bad shoot". There are plenty of scenarios where that is not the case, including the incident that started all of this (the kid in Ferguson, MO). That last statement is my opinion, of course.

I'm not unsympathetic to innocent black people getting killed by cops. I just don't believe it's an issue on a large enough scale to warrant the reaction it has gotten over the last 5 years.

What else could we possibly do? Shut the country down for two years?

And some in the medical field have opined (don't you just love that word?) that it could take up to 10 years to develop a real vaccine thus your number might be off.

I can all but guarantee you the people who would even think the idea of shutting down for 2 years is a good thing are those who have the cash/wealth to get through the perilous times. The thing is most do not, so maybe they should walk in others' shoes instead of solely their own. But people are people, so that's not going to happen. You can bank on it.

NBC News conducted a survey a couple of years ago and asked people if they were dealt an unexpected debt of $500 could they deal with it and 57% said no. Most people working from paycheck to paycheck are likely not in favor of shutting down for a prolonged time, yet for some people they are all but irrelevant. This is a sad commentary of people and it is an accurate one.

I'm genuinely asking, but how many other countries are still completely shut down, any? Seems like quite a few of them are completely open and just dealing with the virus in that way (while being open). I don't think there are any countries having just terrible results right now.

Did you read the "i can't breathe" article? Dude had a gun, ran from cops, and had a collapsed lung. I don't see how the cops reacted poorly here.

Exactly.

But this crap gets lumped in the the George Floyd stuff, which does nothing but create controversy. Those situations are not the same.

Stop kneeing on people for 13 minutes. Arrest them and put them in the police vehicle. It’s not that hard.

Also, where did you see the 13 mintues? Anybody have the raw video? B/c from what was on the posted link, nothing the officers did was wrong

If you want to you can address the question posed by Bounce. If you want a mature conversation with people that is entirely understandable. Is it mature or immature to respond to his question?

222 new Covid-19 cases in Oklahoma today, that's the biggest increase I can remember. Also, the Whirlpool plant in Tulsa is closing due to an outbreak. Batten down the hatches....
