I know they are still calling it pcr and the formed i filled out was from LabLik.

Yeah the PCR just means it's a direct test for the virus and LabLik is the lab that runs the test but not the manufacturer. I will see what I can find out.

Wow! He made this statement on News9.

I got tested today due to being in a meeting with someone that tested positive. I found it interesting that my company has switched to cheek swabs. Any evidence of this being more accurate? If I had to guess, in a controlled environment, it is probably less accurate but in the real world, there are probably more ways to screw up a nasal swab so maybe the cheek swab is more accurate overall

I had a similar situation about a week ago. About 5 days after meeting with a client, he notified us he had tested positive. My coworker got tested. He was negative. At least one other client that was in the room and offices with the guy was tested and came back negative. I decided to self quarantine until about 15 days after the meeting. Never had any symptoms.

That's not what I saw Senator Lankford say on CNN yesterday with Wolf Blitzer. He said Oklahoma is way ahead of the rest of the country which is why the Trump rally is perfectly safe, even saying he may not wear a mask to the event.

It almost makes you think he's being political... almost.

to Lankford's credit, if you are crammed in an arena of 19k people, I'm not sure even a mask will help

Looks like the Rt numbers for Oklahoma have changed...meaning they changed the formula or added data or something like that. Because it seems like for awhile OK was under 1 and around the .9 range. But if you go look at the numbers now, it shows we have been at or above 1 since april

I haven't been able to find any specific info about your test Bounce. There are too many manufacturers to narrow it down. Everyone wants a piece of the pie lol.

Trying to understand the message here.

It seems like he is using an ignorance is bliss argument... If we don't test, we won't see how bad it is, and he won't look as bad. He is more worried about looking bad than knowing what the actual Covid-19 situation out in the public. Look at his wording.... If we didn't test, "we would be showing almost no cases"..... Why is this relevant to anyone? Who is this message for?

We are testing, we do have cases, what is the point of this message? Is he hoping his base reads this and says "yea, he's right! We would have no cases if magic was real!".... I don't get it. This is completely insane.

South Korea only has 12,000 confirmed cases and 277 total deaths. They are the model of success, and they do extensive testing.

Yeah the problem with his rationale is that without testing and tracing you are flying blind and the pandemic ends up raging out of control. He's just not capable of thinking about this in a complex way.

Ok, so are we saying this is how he really thinks about this? Meaning, he's an idiot?

Or is this a purposefully worded attempt to make people think we are in better shape than we are?

The point is pretty obvious IMO.
More people are testing positive b/c we are testing more.
The number of new cases may look much worse now than three months ago because we are testing more now. I believe he is hinting at that there are a ton more people that have had covid than we know about and if we had the testing availability at the beginning that we do now, things would look better right now. The new cases may not be the best indicator of how things are going. It is better to use this data in conjunction with hospitalizations and deaths.

He isn't trying to say we shouldn't be testing. His statement is exactly how most Americans think. The numbers increase because we are testing more.

I sent a message to LabLik and this is what they sent back "I'm sorry you have reached simply the social media page. The employer would be best to answer those questions for you. The laboratory develops tests at the request of the clients"

But that isn't true. The numbers are increasing because more people are contracting the virus. If nobody was contracting it then we would have zero positive tests.

Obviously if you tested ZERO people you would have ZERO positives but we haven't been in that position in months.

We don't know that the numbers are actually increasing though. The number of people testing positive is increasing no doubt. But the actual number of people that have it? Who knows.

Um, testing is how we *know* they have it.
