March Madness and Covid-19

I just read that it is now almost certain North Carolina is going to require wearing masks in public. I don't know if it will apply to both indoors and outdoors, or just inside public places. These things are going to happen when people are incapable of policing themselves.

And all these new cases are 80% under 49
This age range has had 14 deaths out of 5000 cases

450 new cases for Oklahoma.
2 deaths

I fully expect the death numbers from this uptick in cases to be less, or a smaller percentage, than it was earlier. Those most at risk are protecting themselves. Those less at risk are the ones operating as normal, and going to catch it. Honestly, that is probably the best way to fight it right now. Staying inside, shutting things down, that couldn't continue to happen with the majority of folks. Protect the elderly. Protect those with underlying risks. The rest probably need to clear it out through herd immunity.

MSM referred to the pandemic as being no worse than the flu early on so that could pass for as a hoax.

I guess. I mean obviously some extreme people thinks it was a made up hoax.
But I don't think that thinking it is overblown is the same as a hoax.

We're not special, deaths will rise here as they have everywhere else in the country as the number of cases and hospitalizations go up.

He never said they wouldn't.

But the 18-49 age group is special compared to the 50+ age group.

The death rate should be much lower than the first wave.

Highly contagious diseases don't stay confined to one age group. Without a shutdown these people will spread the disease to every other group of people. It's that simple. Just look at Texas. Dallas had it's highest number of Covid-19 hospitalizations yesterday.

I know people keep saying that older people and the vulnerable will protect themselves but that's not possible without them completely quarantining, and I highly doubt that's going to happen.

This is more than likely true but I still don't think it will be nearly as bad as the first round. Everyone knows a little more about the virus. Older people know how much more susceptible they are. Doctors know how to better treat for it. We have an abundance of supplies

I wish some of these posters took heart disease and cancer half as serious as they're taking COVID.

I'm glad to see my company has made masks mandatory if you are out of your office. So many people were getting on elevators and in breakrooms without one

796 new Covid-19 cases in Alabama. We will see if Oklahoma delays its numbers again today.

I wish you'd post more. Your perspectives crack me up and make me think at the same time.

352 new cases today in Oklahoma. I guess they fixed their reporting problem at OSDH.
