March Madness and Covid-19

I would love to hear every bit of detail on this story. That's horrifying.

I wish I had more info, but that is what I know. One conversation I was there in person but walked up after it had started. The other I wasn't present, but the story was told to a family member that I see every week, or relayed it to me. In both cases the "patient" was in their 50's/60's. Neither has symptoms. One was trying to get tested b/c they were in contact with a neighbor that had been feeling sick (but not tested for COVID). Not sure why the other was looking to get tested.

Well I hate to be the constant skeptic but positive Covid-19 results are handled like critical results. They are manually called to the ordering physician and are then entered into a computer system and then they are manually reported to state health for follow-up, including contact tracing. They aren’t just thrown in the mail and hope they reach the recipient. Any laboratory that did something like that would lose its accreditation.

Ok, got tested again. Same place. St. Johns Urgent Care at Utica Square. Hopefully they don't lose it again.

It's a total **** show out there, people... The biggest franchise of urgent cares in the area, "Access Medical Centers", are all out of tests. Tulsa, Claremore, Owasso, Skiatook, Bixby, etc. No tests. Not just rapids, but normal tests.

Also.... Rhema in Broken Arrow is going to close for 2 weeks (as of today) because of Covid. Some parents took their kid to get tested, and took their kid back to school every day for 3-4 days, then the test came back positive. So he was there 8 hours a day with all those other kids and teachers and had Covid. I don't know if this has hit the news yet, but my brother in laws kid goes there and he told me about it this evening. They are having to quarantine too.

Schools out mate

Florida reported 132 Covid-19 deaths today, breaking the old record for deaths in a single day from the virus.

Unlikely to be believed by the right.... My family members (who are very much Trump people) were telling me that the cases don't matter, because thats what Trump said... Now they are telling me the deaths aren't real. That people who are getting killed in traffic accidents and stuff are being counted as Covid deaths.

So:

The cases don't matter
The hospitalizations don't matter much
The deaths are fake

I've heard much the same...

madness...its almost like they have an agenda or something

What i do not understand is why they were willing to release what seems like a more accurate number when they were releasing numbers which were not to be believed in the first place. Not understanding the ease of pivoting.

Looks like they found 4 or 5 labs out of thousands that had reporting errors. As soon as they were asked about it they discovered the errors. This is not some vast conspiracy. Labs have absolutely zero to gain from reporting the wrong numbers to the state.
