.....but up on the basketball forum I always considered him to be my ally, lol. We usually have like-minded opinions as it relates to basketball.

Hey man, I'm always open to finding the right JUCO player or two. :D

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has tested positive for Covid-19.

He said he does not second-guess his personal choices not to wear a mask despite testing positive.

good. i find it a sign of weakness when you change your opinion just because something directly affects you. You should make your decisions based on reason and not how it affects you

Edit: i'm not saying his reasoning is correct.

So you think it's weak to change your opinion based on newly discovered evidence or changes in the situation?

I think not changing your opinion is a sign of weakness.

This preoccupation with appearing "strong" is idiotic.

no no no

Changing your opinion simply because something happens to me is a sign of weakness and selfishness.

We should always search for truth and pivot based on all the data available.
But if you change your opinion based on something all of a sudden happening to you and nothing else has changed, to me that shows a lack or original thinking and proper examination

For example, lets say the commissioner of baseball says they aren't going to put up netting behind home plate because the number of incidents of someone getting hit are very low and do not justify the cost. There have been cases of people getting hit but rarely. But then one day the commissioner himself gets hit and decides that now is the time to put the netting up because he has been effected by it. To me that shows that he made the wrong initial decision and values himself more than others...which is a big issue in society in general.

So I always tell myself when I form an opinion, that my position shouldn't be dependent on if something happens to me or to someone else. It should be formed on all facts and info objectively.

Let's look at this situation though. He doesn't "second-guess" his personal decision not to wear a mask even though he tested positive? Wearing a mask is to protect others a lot more than it is to protect you. So what does that mean? Is he saying if he had it to do over again he wouldn't wear a mask? If that's the case it just makes him look like a selfish asshole.

Incompetence or corruption?....you be the judge.

https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/coronavirus/florida-lab-admits-its-covid-positivity-rate-was-inflated-90

"Orlando news station Fox 35 said on Monday that it undertook an investigation of those "astronomical figures," after which several medical facilities confirmed that their actual positive rates were much lower than those reported to the state government.

The news station reported that area hospital Orlando Health "confirmed errors in the report," with hospital officials stating their their "positivity rate is only 9.4 percent, not 98 percent."

Another Orlando-area lab, Veteran’s Medical Center, listed "a positivity rate of 76 percent," but a company official said that "the positivity rate for the center is actually 6 percent."

The inflated numbers come as Florida has been recording record numbers of COVID-19 infections, though an analysis of state data by Just the News last week revealed that the state's recent record-breaking counts of infections may have been overestimated by as much as 30%."

I addressed this yesterday, it looks like they found 4 or 5 labs out of thousands that had reporting errors and when they called those places they found the errors and reported the correct numbers.

"Just The News" is a far-Right biased outfit and should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

If you got married and the marriage ends in a divorce does that mean you should refuse to marry once again. Does this apply to the above?

Here's the media bias/fact check on "Just the News"

Scroll down and check out the recent failed fact checks.

I'm not disagreeing that the particular site is on the right (I saw the other article titles on the page), I received an email about it this morning....that's it. I'm also skeptical of "fact checkers" because few, if any, are down the middle and truly objective. It's my curse of having a suspicious disposition.

Here is the Orlando Sentinel article:
