March Madness and Covid-19

Good info. Hopefully it keeps coming down.

There are about 10 states which are problematic, which is a substantial improvement, as compared to weeks ago. Hawaii is by far in the worst case which always surprised me that they were not hit hard initially since they are a go to travel destination and rather close to mainland China.

Hawaii has really strict quarantine guidelines so that surprises me. It must have already been rampant within the local population if they are one of the problem states.

You don't understand the demographics. You are living in a bubble.

It's estimated that over 60% of voters approve Medicare For All. A vast majority of Democratic Voters support it.

Polling has shown over 60% of American's support tuition free college... 7 out of 10 Democrat voters support it. 86% of African American voters support tuition free college. 75% of all voters under age 30 support it.

64% of ALL VOTERS support a progressive tax on the ultra rich... Nearly 80% of all Democrats support forms of wealth tax.

Polls have shown over 70% of Democratic voters support a Green New Deal. When the Green New Deal is broken down into pieces, it has large support even outside the party. 77% of all voters (GOP and Dem) want a national commitment to clean energy. 67% of all voters (GOP and Dem) support trying to get to 100% clean energy in 10 years. 81% of Dems and 46% of Republicans want to set a national deadline for zero carbon emissions. 76% of Democrats and 39% of Republicans want to set a date for which we stop production of oil and gas and switch to all renewable energy.

These politicians are moving left because their constituency has moved left. They aren't forcing left on their voters, their voters have moved left. That's why Biden moved left.

Right-wing media is pushing a narrative that Joe Biden is now being controlled by far left handlers... That isn't true at all. Biden is shifting politically to his voting base. The entire party is shifting to a Democratic base that has become far more "left" since 2008. That is really when the shift began. Polling shows overwhelming support among party voters for these policies that you consider "radical".

Colorado (which used to be a swing state) elected an openly gay, progressive Governor. Biden is up on Trump by 13 points in Colorado.

Texas elected Ted Cruz with 50.9% of the vote, and Beto O'Rourke, who is a Bernie-style progressive Democrat garnered 48.3% of the vote. Cruz barely escaped that election, IN TEXAS, against someone who is essentially a Democratic Socialist. TEXAS. Cruz was 2nd nationally to Trump in the GOP primaries for President.

There are lots of other examples of this, but the shift in the Democratic base is obvious. It reveals itself in the polling numbers. Democratic voters want free college, clean energy, Medicare, expanded social security, and want to fight income inequality and the tax system.

You’re wrong. About almost everything. You’re the one In the bubble. Just like most dems who are tone deaf to what most of America wants. People don’t like kamala Harris and there’s already talk about her taking over for Biden when he forgets where he is. The dems thought they were gonna win easily with HRC because they’re tone deaf. Dems think they’re gonna win this time because they’re tone deaf. You haven’t learned anything in 4 years because you’re too hell bent with anti trump. Reasonable people see the dems supporting this radical left view and they don’t want anything to do with it.

Donald Trump will win re-election and it may not be that close.

So the statistics are wrong?

Statistics? LOL. That’s a lot of guessing and assuming. Also, statistics are numbers that are manipulated. Anyone can manipulate statistics to support their claims.

Trump is winning

So you claim that without asking abd where he got the numbers or show something to disprove it.

Statistics are numbers that are manipulated? That’s dumb

Any idiot knows that statistics can be manipulated. Everyone uses statistics to support their argument. I could fill up this page with stats that support everything I say.

But keep sticking your head in the sand. Dumb dumb.

So if I said a player shot 8/11 from 3 then you could manipulate that to tell me he shot bad from 3 that game?

I’ve never seen you argue with facts, statistics, or logic. Just biased bullsh*t.

Statistics comprised from objective observations are a different animal than statistics based on subjective interpretations.

It's sad that this has to be explained to you but i guess consider the source..

Yes, shooting 8/11 from 3 v. Calling 1000 supposedly random people and asking them questions worded in all sorts of tricky ways - are not the same..

Are you being obtuse?

Ok, if you don't like polls from Pew, Kaiser, random universities, etc.... Consider this.

There were two socialists on the Democratic ticket in the primary. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.

Roughly 13 million Democrats voted for socialist candidates in the primaries. Biden got 18 million votes. Also consider the policies of Bernie and Warren made their way into the official platform of the party, some to a lesser extent. Biden went with an option to buy into Medicare, a half option on tuition free college, etc. But he had to shift or lose to socialist candidates, because the voters in the party want the policies.

In Kentucky.... Progressive candidate Charles Booker raised $3 million to challenge Amy McGrath who raised $40 million and had the support of the entire mainstream Democratic establishment. He lost to her by 2 points in their primary election. 247,000 votes to 232,000 votes. He was running on Medicare For All, Green New Deal, etc. And the voters nearly overcame a 1,000% money disparity in KENTUCKY.

Another very liberal candidate, Beto O'Rourke... Supports people buying into Medicare. Wants to ban military style weapons. Wants Universal prek for kids and families... Wants a huge increase in the minimum wage... wants to ban the death penalty... Supports wealth taxes... Wants to tax corporations and the richest americans over a 10 year period of time to fund our move to 100% green energy...

He ran against the 2nd most popular Republican in the nation, Ted Cruz, in the state of Texas. 4,045,632 Texans voted for him. 4,260,553 voted for Ted Cruz. 50 to 48. 10 years ago, 20 years ago, etc that would be UNTHINKABLE.

You can doubt the polls all you want (they aren't wrong, but whatever).... but the shift in voter demographic is obvious to anyone paying attention.
