Dumb, but on brand for poster

sure ... it's the entire rest of the world who has it wrong. you're delusional. and any time you wish to compare intellects then just drop on by. I can think, talk, and debate circles around you.

I think the lessons we are learning and are still to learn to with this virus, from a public health perspective, will help us deal much better with the next one. It's difficult to prepare for the "semi-unknown". Whether you believe this is overreaction or under-reaction, there will be another one at some point that may be much worse, so keep gathering the data and take every pre-caution that you can. We will get through this.

Aren't you a public defender, Jeff? lol

Are you under the impression that trump created this virus? That any other country has completely stopped this disease? That even if us had completley blocked the disease in America, that the markets wouldn't have gone down regardless? Dear lord.. sorry about your Bernie losing the nomination..

Ok, you are the third person on this forum to take a stance that people criticizing Donald Trump are under the impression he created the virus.

What on earth is being said that makes you ask that question?

I can't decide which logical fallacy you are applying here. Ad Hominem? Red Herring? Straw man? I think all apply in one post. Two for sure.

1.) The Red Herring
-Are you under the impression that Trump created this virus?

2.) The Ad Hominem
-Sorry about your Bernie losing the nomination.

These are classic logical fallacies. Come on man, you are better than that.

Even if your point is correct (15% discrepancy), the value of your point is weak/pointless as some sort of rebuttal to the original responded to point..

Where is the discrepancy?

The first line of the article is:
"Just three weeks ago, President Donald Trump was celebrating. US stocks had gained 58% since his election day, and he tweeted "Highest Stock Market In History, By Far!"

The S&P on 11/8/16 was 2139, the high was on 2/19/20 that Trump tweeted and right now it is 2540.

That number is not correct. Market was up 58% at it's high, far from up 75%. Point is still valid though in the market was up since 2016. BTW, that was less than HW Bush, Clinton and Obama in their first 3 years.

However, since the sell-off, that number has fallen to up 22% as of today.

You are making an apples to orange comparison. The markets were not coming off fresh lows at the time for they were rather mature in age when Trump became president. Secondly, the tech boom occurred under Clinton which helped greatly. If you want to credit Clinton for the tech boom then my point is a moot one. With respect to Obama the level of stimulus used to to propel the markets were unprecedented. I mean If I had an unlimited amount of funds even I could turn a $2 whore into a $100 one.

From other posters claim of 75% (typo-ed Meant 17%)

You could also use the election night sell off to use as a bottom.

The basis is for people who have animus towards him there is nothing he can do that would appease them. Nothing. If he cured cancer he would be attacked.

Why can't we just debate the issue for what it is? He is being criticized for specific things. Are you saying the criticism is unfair?

I am really trying to understand the mentality here.

It seems to me that you are saying he can't be criticized by anyone other than people who openly support him. Any other criticism is invalid because the person doesn't like him to begin with, and the criticism is merely a byproduct of their bias against him.

Meaning, only Republicans can levy legitimate complaints or criticisms? Anything else is not be taken seriously or even considered.

Is that what you are saying?

The people asking for this to not get political are getting insanely defensive & political.

The OSSAA has postponed this week's state tournament.

I never made any comparison, just correcting your incorrect data.

I did point out the numbers for previous presidents just to demonstrate the market being up 58%, or now 22%, is not unprecedented since the President likes to claim "greatest ever" about everything in his administration.

So do you think Trump should be credited for this market, but not Clinton for the market in his time?

"Should have cured it sooner."

The S&P close of 11/8/16. Future contracts are NEVER, nor have ever in history, been used to calculate the market. Derivatives, or futures, are not the companies in the S&P 500 or DJIA.

are you truly this daft? people can dislike the guy and still tell the truth about the situation. if you're only limiting valid opinions to those of people who love trump then ...

1. first of all you have a gross conceptual error in your understanding of epistemology. in court we consider evidence from contrary sources all the time. In fact, that is an actual hearsay exception. Just because someone doesn't like someone else doesnt mean what they're saying is invalid.

2. instead of arguing bias etc... why don't you talk about the facts? the man is a bold-faced liar and few are stupid enough to even deny that. lies breed insecurity through distrust. need I go further or do I have to spell this out for you in specificity? I understand you're a bit slow.

3. nothing he does is good enough? so this means you just lie and keep saying all is well? there's no logic to your stance.

4. "Bingo. B****** gonna *****" ... wow. what stellar analysis.

Interesting they said postponed.

Since my son graduated from Jenks, I hope they do play the games eventually. Rooting for Coach Martin, who is an NFL referee, BTW.
