March Madness and Covid-19

The United States just surpassed 100 deaths. Reminder: less than 3 weeks ago we had 15 cases total in the country.

One of the positive patients in Tulsa is an EMT... let that sink in.

And 48 of those deaths were in one county (King County, WA).

New York mayor is considering a "shelter in place" order because their cases have exploded.

The rest of the country has held up well considering all things. Lets hope it can continue to do the same. I know I want to see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.

No it hasn't, this is just getting started.

BTW, West Virginia has now reported its first case, so it's now confirmed in all 50 states.

That's in the United States, right?

You know what he is saying. I know you know. Smoothing averages are not unique to you, I wouldn't think, so lets look at it with as little bias as possible. Can't we? If you remove the best and worst outcome it helps to define realizations and thus provides us with a better handle as it relates to perspective. West Virginia has one case reported and this is an anomaly, and that is why one would not expect its situation to be a common one thus we remove it from the equation because it is not realistic. There is no other reason for doing so.

Those numbers happened over the last 2 weeks.

And West Virginia reported its first case, of many I'm sure.

My rear view mirror proves otherwise. I do not understand why you have to fight with people who look at things which are not exactly up to your liking. I don't get it.

I do not understand why you have to rush in here and try to refute every single fact I post. I don't get it.

Because I have come to the conclusion that you want the fan to be inundated so you could be proven right. Your being proven right equates to death. Mine doesn't. Sorry.

Saying that 99% of the nation is performing much better than Washington is not refuting fact. My stating that selfishness is a contributing factor is not refuting fact.

Oh you think I want my son who has asthma to catch this so I can be "proven right"? GTFOH

Saying that 99% of the nation is performing much better than Washington is just wrong. Washington is just ground zero, so the virus had an early start there. Fact.

And you thinking I'm "selfish" because apparently you think I have something to gain on a basketball website is idiotic. Fact.

If you don't like what I have to say I don't mind going on your ignore list. Fact.

Steve rocks, don't take this the wrong way. A couple of days ago you said you were exhausted because you'd been working non stop...not sure what on. Was it something related to this pandemic? If so, just how in the hell do you have time to be on this board every seemingly waking moment arguing? Again, not a jab, just trying to understand..

Not to get in the middle of your conversation, but the fact about a rear view mirror though is it only tells you where you have been and does very little to tell you where you are going.

I think that is the deal about this virus. It is going to get worse and the number of cases will explode. Just hope the measures taken over the last 5 days- think about that for a minute, just 4-5 days of mass cancellations- will allow us to see what is ahead more clearly.

At this point, there are many models that predict where it could go, and most of them are not good.

I'm working right now actually, at my second job. This is my diversion and I'm not doing a very good job of being diverted to a different topic haha.

I'm not working directly on the pandemic. I'm helping coordinate testing though for veterans at my main job. Along with lots of other stuff.
