March Madness and Covid-19

Steve rocks, don't take this the wrong way. A couple of days ago you said you were exhausted because you'd been working non stop...not sure what on. Was it something related to this pandemic? If so, just how in the hell do you have time to be on this board every seemingly waking moment arguing? Again, not a jab, just trying to understand..

I'm working right now actually, at my second job. This is my diversion and I'm not doing a very good job of being diverted to a different topic haha.

I'm not working directly on the pandemic. I'm helping coordinate testing though for veterans at my main job. Along with lots of other stuff.

I worked all weekend though at my main job with a skeleton staff, that's why I was exhausted and took Monday off.

My man you are quite the multitasker!

I saw that, those are Great Depression numbers.

Yep, I think it bottomed/peaked at 24% in the GD.

I also believe he was using those worse case scenario projections to scare the crap out of Congress to get something really meaningful done.

3 of the the 4 Net players are asymptomatic. Does this mean they stay that way?

And Tom Brady to the Bucs?

You can't diagnose something you don't test for...

But you have to account for the fact that since our testing regimen was woefully inadequate in the early days (last week lol) and is still woefully inadequate, that many cases and deaths were and are missed. The link I sent yesterday addressed this topic, you should check it out.

That was my point, though. These diagnoses are "spreading logarithmically" at least somewhat because the amount of testing is increasing logarithmically. There's no way to know how many people have an asymptomatic disease unless they're being tested.

Way more of the old strain is being diagnosed at my hospital now, but that's only because it's being tested for more. Not because the actual incidence is increasing.

Testing is not really increasing logarithmically though. It's linear and inadequate.

It's nice how some food outlets are opening up early to assist senior citizens. It's a goodwill gesture, but it should have been instituted from the onset. Better late than never.

I know a lot of our discussion has focused on the Administration response and actions or the actual medical impact of this virus, but here is another angle we haven't talked about a lot, but as potentially devastating.

20% unemployment, which would be an increase of over 6x?? Mnuchin says it could happen without action.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...yield-20-jobless-rate-without-action-k7wheob8

Yes. I believe this Administration will take action shortly and will continue to take action over the next few months to try and avert this. I don't have any more information outside of payroll tax relief and several stimulus payments that are being worked up though.

The other casualty is that thousands of small businesses will close.....and likely never open again. Small businesses are the backbone of this country and it's incredibly unfortunate concerning these additional disastrous consequences of this situation.

I went to the gym this evening before it shuts down for who knows how long. It was a ghost town. 2 people.

I can report De Blasio was not one of them

I know how you "do not" like to share "donuts" so good for you!
