Matt Freeman sparks bench /// Oklahoma Daily

I have been a Matt Freeman fan since he committed to OU more than a year ago. So, nothing I saw him do when I watched the game replay this morning came as a surprise to me, especially on the offensive end. Our freshman Kiwi can really shoot it, can't he?
The only questions I had going into yesterday's game were can he rebound and play defense? One rebound is not enough for a 6' 10" post player. Seems to me some of us said the same thing about Lattin last season, the same player who led the team in rebounding yesterday. i think Freeman will do a better job on the boards as he makes the adjustment to a more physical college game.
To be honest, I didn't see much wrong with Matt's defense. He's not going to be a rim protector like Khadeem and Jamuni. He's more of a position defender who uses his high basketball IQ to be in the right place most of the time. I think he'll be fine on the defensive end as he gains more experience.
